Pakistan in talks for 4 Ada Class Corvettes, T-129 Helicopters & modernization of agosta fleet

.
Minimum time require by Pakistan Govt to start generating funds for this. Perhaps that's why.

Nah its not like that. Might be something to do with Turkish shipbuilding ability.

.
a few days ago state owned istanbul shipyard get more than 300 labors,I thouth its for istanbul class ship but it is for pakistans milgems

yeah may be.

Also we now need plenty of new young blood in Navy. Large group of crew men required in few years time to tame these upcoming ships and subs. Exciting times ahead for PN management.

What is the difference between ada class corvette and F-22 frigate? It has been reported that these corvettes can cruise for 15 days before fuel runs out. This needs improvement.

. . .
If that is the model from the ceremony then there’s no VLS

What a complete waste of money considering the 1st Istanbul class is under construction

Then we could have just bought MILGEN in 2008 why wait till 2018 turkey has learnt so much since then

.
I highly doubt TOT...we claimed for Augusta subs but when contract end we never build any one Augusta even no indigenous...ask why? because all tech imported, engineers were French ...only low key engineers and workers were Pakistanis....same thing going to be happen with Milgem.
We are not French,if we train the Pakistani engineers to our level, they can also produce in Pakistan for new costumers of the various naval ships,it would be cheaper and twice the speed.
A win win win,experience,revenue and eventually,brand.

they are faster than frigates and have better anti submarine capabilities

This time frame is confusing, why it is increasing?

not really. First one will be handed over in 54 months and it will take 6 months incrementally for each ship to be in our hands completely ..obviously for the last 3 ships, construction gonna start almost at the same time

so each will be constructed in 54 months? but the start date has been staggered by 6 months for every ship?

In a series of posts on Twitter on 5 July, Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey Nurettin Canikli said that the has Turkey won a tender to build 4 corvettes for Pakistan Navy.

According to the statement, this contract is the largest such award so far received by Turkey defence industry.

“This will be the largest single export in the history of Turkish defense industry,” said Nurettin Canikli.

The agreement is a milestone for Turkish defense industry and has proven its adequacy, the minister noted.

Turkey’s STM signed a letter of intent in May 2017 to manufacture four Ada class MILGEM corvettes for Pakistan, and the contract was signed in November. Two of the ships will be manufacturered at Karachi Shipyard and two others in Istanbul, Canikli said.

STM CEO Davut Yilma said in May 2017 that the cost will be $250 million per ship.

PN is moving ahead fast. Even though there are still few issues that need to be answered.

so each will each 54 months? but the start date has been staggered by 6 months for every ship?

no first one will be delivered in 54 months from now than after 6 months another one (i.e. 60 months as of today) and so on
