Pakistan hints at reassessing US ties

indian is seen internationally as a bigger player, regionally pakistan is important, but globally due to economic sucess india is seen as a massive player. they can get away with murder like there doing right now otoh pakistan can't its that simple,

India is seen as a bigger player because it is a nation of 1.25 billion people (huge market to explore) and a counterweight to China. If Pakistan wasn't relevant, it would be part of the UNSC member states or SCO.

In this fast changing world bi-polar world, one has to keep everyone engaged, but strategically align itself in accordance with what's in the best National interest.

In case of Pakistan, what we're doing is absolutely appropriate in the circumstances. We already have strategically aligned ourselves with China (refer CPEC | vis-a-vis Pakistan and India thread) and already aligning ourselves strategically with Russia. Steps have been made in the last two years, aggressively, to further strengthen our relationship with Turkey. On the other hand, we continue to engage with US despite the fact that the relationship has become colder. However, the actions of our military and government during the last two/three years show that we are not depending on US when it comes to medium and long term National strategy and plans.

Seems you haven't been reading about the recent offerings of military hardware by Russia to Pakistan, which has never happened in the past.

Russians are willing to sell hardware. the price points are not low. The question is how much is Pakistan willing to buy

india basically has isolated pakistan internationally, since the mumbai attacks things started getting bad, initially the terrorists who comitted the crime were bastardized and stated to be indians but later on were found to be pak nationals. the problem became even more serious was OBL was killed. India is involved in terrorism in pakistan, but no one will bother listening to pakistan pleas based from the recent past, its that simple. Indias humanitarian violations in kashmir will go unchecked for this same reason, when you have a country who themselves has harbored terrorist figures, and the biggest one out of all of them was found deep within the country who will care. its going to take many years for pakistan to get back any credibility.

Unlike Western countries OIC & China will never boycott Pakistan, so Pakistan have breathing space not isolated. Infact Pakistans relationship with western countries is like they have always been.

They can do business with India, but will not give Pakistan cold shoulder like western countries do. As all have lined up with India due too Islam factor as Islam is common enemy of both. (Also Russian which have 20-25 % muslim population. Therefore Pakistan can never expect support here.

Western countries are the market for your textiles. They have opened their wallets in the past to help you in times of famine, earthquakes and floods. They treat Pakistanis in America/UK much better than they do in the GCC states.

UAE is non consequential country. BUT for indians it is a big deal because large number of indians are working and doing business there. If UAE start kicking out indians part of indian economy will collapse.
