We werent alone.Remember guys, we only provided training besides advise and intelligence, just imagine if there were Pakistani troops on the ground or pilots in the air......
Why is it you are always keen not to credit Pakistan with any achievement. Just to remind you of your lack luster attitude, this is what you said on the other thread regarding PAF pilots shooting down of Israeli aircraft.Pakistan doesn't have a direct role in war against ISIS. I see this as a "diplomatic praise."
US (and Iran) have a major role in fight against ISIS on the ground. Only a fool would think otherwise.
Professionalism of PAF pilots notwithstanding, I see 'element of surprise' for Israeli pilots in these interceptions.
PAF was not officially involved in these confrontations; some PAF pilots volunteered for combat against Israel and unofficially joined the airforce of an ME state for the said purpose.
Israeli pilots might not be expecting such level of professionalism from Arab pilots on average.
I don't think it is correct to assert that PAF scored kills against Israeli Air Force. It would be rather correct to assert that Pakistani pilots took them by surprise.
I think you misunderstood my point. Why is it you are always keen not to credit Pakistan with any achievement. Just to remind you of your lack luster attitude, this is what you said on the other thread regarding PAF pilots shooting down of Israeli aircraft.
Try to change your thinking and attitude sir.
Yea part of the team..... just like in Sri Lanka. We werent alone.
Agreed.Dear Iraqi official, don't paint bulls eye on our heads. You received help, keep quite.
In Waziristan, the likes of TTP were embedded with local population, many of whom were just innocent either hijacked my the miscreants or just happen to be in the wrong place, it was impossible for our security forces to just go in and wipe out an entire village or compound. Foot soldiers had to search and clear house to house, street after street, we witnessed how the culprits had their bomb factories under mosques and amongst thoroughfares.I think you misunderstood my point.
Remember how long it took Pakistan to clear Waziristan region from militants and how many American drone strikes were involved? Operations began in 2009 (with Operation Rah-e-Nijat) and ended in 2016 (Operation Zarb-e-Azb). Hundreds of drone strikes also occurred which claimed some of the greatest tacticians of TTP during the course of this "war."
Modern-era wars are much more complicated then "professionalism" of soldiers: funding and logistics are the backbone of large-scale military operations and Pakistan is lacking in these areas (in offensive role).
ISIS is much bigger than TTP with massive footprints in Syria and Iraq but Americans are pounding them day and night and this is why Iraqi forces (in Iraq) and YPG (in Syria) have been able to make advances on the ground. Iranian militias are also in the picture and fighting ISIS separately. You can find ample evidence on the web.
To be honest, even I am not sure how these militant factions became so powerful that they could challenge professional armies in the battlefield and take so much pounding.
As for shooting down Israeli aircraft:-
Do you think PAF was officially involved? Did Pakistani pilots use jets supplied by PAF? Skills of Pakistani pilots are not in question but it is safe to say that Israeli had no idea about the identity of pilots in those aircraft during the engagements or earlier.
Pakistani armed forces never clashed with Israeli armed forces in a formal way. This was my point.
Good point. In Waziristan, the likes of TTP were embedded with local population, many of whom were just innocent either hijacked my the miscreants or just happen to be in the wrong place, it was impossible for our security forces to just go in and wipe out an entire village or compound. Foot soldiers had to search and clear house to house, street after street, we witnessed how the culprits had their bomb factories under mosques and amongst thoroughfares.
Israeli certainly knew that they were up against a "coalition." Pakistani pilots were likely the most skilled of the bunch (or "among" the most skilled of the bunch) in those conflicts within the Islamic bloc.As for the Israelis being oblivious to the identity of our pilots, well one wonders why did they acquired the services of some Punjabi speaking Indians to constantly relay confusing messages in Punjabi on the RT.
