I guess the only way forward for PAF is project Azm which has a long endurance UAV as well , I dont think Pakistan is going to the route of COIN aircraft (Which they should by the way) but rather all resources are channeled to Air Superiority with decent platform / Somehow ground support specially in Punjab area will be limited in 1 st phase of war with India .so my proposal was based on special role ,i.e another reason to have a heavier platform to complement JF17 with very low cost of operations

The advantage of a drone, over a COIN specific a/c, is that it can be used for air /sea patrolling as well. Plus it won't be pilot dependent.
