Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) January 4, 2012.
Security forces killed six alleged militants and arrested 13 during an operation in southwestern Pakistan on Wednesday morning, authorities said. The forces launched a search operation after receiving information that Taliban militants had been spotted in the Zhob area in Balochistan province, said Hamid ul Karim, a senior administration official.
"Both sides used heavy weapons during exchange of fire," he said.
The clashes left two security forces injured. Security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the militants, according to Karim. The alleged militants are in custody and an investigation is under way.

That's good news. They need to be screwed. But what about the so called peace talks between the PA/ISI and the Taliban? Probably a ceasefire has not been declared whilst the talks are in progress. There was also a report that the TTP has categorically stated that the war against Pakistan's security forces would continue. Another report mentioned a split in the ranks of the TTP.
Here's a thread on that by Devil Soul:
‘Major surprises’ expected in talks with militants, ISI
Confusion confounded! But with so many militant organisations with their many offshoots spread across the AFPAK border, the situation is bound to be chaotic.
