PAF is currently focusing on bringning most or all of its fleet to 4th gen (Thunder) standard and expanding it in terms of numbers.

F-16Vs cost 40-50 million a piece to upgrade existing aircraft (including parts, infra etc), less than the unit price of a J-10C or JF-17.

Upgrading F-16Vs is, sadly for viper fanboys, not a priority for PAF at the moment.

The sub Blk 50/52 F-16s are sufficient for Indian Su-30MKIs as seen on 27th feb. J-10Cs are a stop gap measure against Rafales. IAF Mirage 2000s chickened out upon encountering a JF-17 Block II.

So we may see F-16Vs in a few years once non rose Mirages and F-7s are replaced with JF-17, and all PAF thunder are upgraded to Blk III standard. This is assuming the economy doesn't got to shit, of course.

Care to elaborate the highlighted part please ?

JF17 Block II's jammed Mirage 2000 radars and the Mirage 2000 complained their radars were not warning to ground control and bugged out of the Swift Retort confrontation - very well documented with interviews by the ACM at the time when he mentioned they were very happy with the JF17 performance in that mission.

As Ali baba mentioned, JF-17s kept locking and jamming Mirage-2000s among other adversary aircraft, and the rwr warnings were taking a psychological toll on them. The Mirage-2000s fled the battlefield because of "radar problems,"
