they will come naked - no weapons systems and c3 suites. upgrade will require anywhere from 50-80m USD.

I am no naval expert. But my understasnding from visiting various forums is that The chinese 054A is still undergoing trials and has not matured, to PN s liking. PN wants OHPs as an interim solution(2010-2025). Members may remember that the Turkish have modified OHP hull and put their own Systems on it. In view of Pak-Turk collaboration, i wonder if PN will go a similar route and do the work themselves with turkish collaboration. I think PN has a need for 4-6OHPs which will be picked up as they become available. People in the know seem to think there is a lot happenning and extensive evaluations are on going as we speak. The results will come out in due course.
