Pakistan eyes 62 JF-17 jets from China as Rafale dogfight continues in India

jf 17 thunder versions and inductions were planned in 2001-2010 i dont think our airforce plans to use jf 17 against squadrons of rafale from france. there is a better asset appearing to tackle the likes of rafale and su-35.
india doesn't have the su35.

india doesn't have the su35.

indian su-30 MKI is a hybrid of su-35 and su-30. also india plans to induct su-35e and su-35s to fill in the squadron gaps. im talking about heavy weight fast aircraft which fall in rafale and su 35 class.

in airdefence role thunders will face any and all threats including rafale

What Pakistan lacks is strike aircarft..thats where is su30/35 might come in..

I doubt any procurement will be made without financial backing which will not happen from russia..

Pakistan like it or not has been bankrupted by political govts ... Lucky for us we are not in irreversible debt burden YET..

jab aye ga tab ki tab daikhein gey. As I said, rafale is dead on arrival. so will the su35, if and when they get it.

Read carefully between the lines. They consider imports from China as indigenous. So they have already prepared themselves for East India Company 2.0.

Very incoherent article by Indian media. This is what they wrote within article:

"According to intelligence reports, Pakistan and China are also jointly developing JF-17 (Block-3) jets"

So how come Pakistan order China for the jets, when it is jointly developing them?

But atleast they are now conceding that Block 3 will be used to take on the Rafaels, so what does it say about this product and its capabilities?

Its a leak intelligence report..the reason why its accurate /unbiased..simply shows their military isnt sleeping

There is no doubt that Pakistan and China have joint production of JF17 aircraft, and it is a brilliant roadmap for all developing nations to follow. And my comment here is not to undermine PAC capabilities, PAC does not fabricate the airframe, wings sections, internal stamping's for the air-frame, Nose cones, Vertical stabs, internal spars, wire harnesses, landing gear, these are mostly structural comonents for the system. Most of the structural work is done by CAC, which in no way is the majority of the work. The entire integration of the avionics, installation of servos, hydraulics, installation of landing gear, integration of the engine, control system, radar, testing the of the sub assemblies and final assembly for PAF is done by PAC. Ordering aircraft from China only reflects ordering the structural systems from china, which they can probably do much cheaper as they have established line. PAC doesn't want to re-invent the wheel and leverages the economy of scale from CAC thus this it places order for whatever that number is. If anything the idea joint development is the right way to establish a aerospace ecosystem in any developing nation as seen in Pakistan and Brazil with their AMX venture.

As for capabilities of Rafale-H and Jf17blk 3, it is an unfair comparison.

Will see what we find if jf17III indeed carries an AESA/IRST, decent EW and can effectively deploy latest gen Chinese AA aresenal..than in airdefence role in network centric warfare it can take on the rafales

pakistan airforce goals are to defend the airspace. that its more than capable of. with standoff air launched weapons its has fair deep strike capability. bang for buck its pretty effective force

Don't worry mate, internet trolls and their comments hardly matter. You can't big up or mock the capabilities of PAC, pardon my French, you don't know Jack. So let's leave that debate as it will side track the subject under discussion.

I am just highlighting the obvious typical Indian non sense in the article and in their over enthusiasm, indirectly admitting the JF17 block 3 is pitted against the Indian purchase of rafaele. Which actually make sense with project Azm on going which will be a air superiority platform, block 3 will provide the stop gap measures to deal with threats from IAF, including the new purchase of Rafaele.
