Aug 21, Colombo: On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Colombo Major General (R) Muhammad Saad Khattak called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees today (21) and handed over a stock of medical equipment for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

The medical equipment donated by the Government of Pakistan in support of the Sri Lankan government in combating COVID-19 includes 75 Pakistani-made ventilators and 150 C-PAP breathing aid machines.

The stock of medical equipment has been donated under Pakistan’s SAARC COVID-19 emergency assistance contributing to the regional effort to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Appreciating the generous donation of Pakistan on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining bilateral relations between the two countries.

Earlier, Maj Gen Saad Khattak has also handed over a cheque of Rs. 08 million to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Gangaramaya Temple for the Sri Lanka State Pharmaceutical Cooperation related to COVID-19 assistance, the High Commission said in a Twitter message.
