Cost of 12 JF17 thunder = 120 Million
Cost of 12 F16 A/B = 75 Million used price
$850 Million left for Airforce is that not enough to maintain a force that is not at active war?

We have a problem with TTP but that is not worthy of mention as they are mosquitoes that can be controlled by Police force and rangers

Are we getting Super Cobras or Apache that our funding is not enough?

Air power cannot be used anywhere and everywhere.

Taliban solution is very simple

a) Occupy Afghanistan cut he escape route

This needs to change. Times have changed and the air power decides the winning factor. You can have a million strong army sitting ducks to superior firepower from the sky......and you'll lose tanks, artillery, etc, etc from a better air force in large numbers.
I think Pakistani military leadership needs to realize that.
Take a look at Israel, they have higher tech than almost every country but their core if the fire power from the air, supplemented by the ground units. Pakistan has it opposite. For decades it worked but now India is advancing so larger numbers are needed in the PAF more than anything. I'd say this is how it should look like for the next 5 years and then you can go back to Army being the big dawg:

PAF 35%
Navy 15%

Actually your suggestion would require a whole new change in the military doctrine of Pakistan but since things seem so India centric i don't think it is going to happen any time soon, but any ways i have a similar strategy in mind.

I think such a change would be needed. If I was a Pakistani and the PAF was my country's air force, I'd rather see 150 more jets in it than 100000 troops. Because if I don't have a big enough air power, these same troops will be at risk of losing their lives by a much larger enemy air force.....
