“Pakistan could have been a Regional Mighty Power By Now” - Debate

Yes, We went through a lot,

However,

Problems with Pakistan mainly in the last five decades Primarily were :

  • Democracy-Army Rivalry
  • Active Conflict with Arch Rival
  • 1971 Bangladesh
  • Soviet-Afghan War
  • Nuclear Power
  • Proxy elements in FATA

So, These are some of the Root problems, Which In Turn came in with a lot of Secondary Consequences such as :

  • Gov Orgs left vulnerable to foreign Anti-Pak funding orgs/nations
  • Army busy on border
  • Buildup and then again loss of power (war times)
  • Refugee crisis
  • ECONOMIC CRISIS And the Death of Self sustainable Pak
  • Sanctions
  • Relations with possible areas of military influence affected (Gulf regions)
  • All left to rot
  • Internal separatists movements by foreign elements

So the point is, If we look at the pic below,

As part of it’s foreign policy, efforts to expand its military relations and influence in the region, Pak signed defence protocols in the late 1970s with several Arab countries including KSA, Libya, Jordan, Iraq, Oman, UAE and Kuwait, Under which armed forces of these countries were imparted professional training by Pakistani advisors and military trainers.

Furthermore, The Troop presence in KSA.

So the point is, Somewhere we went really wrong, Tides changed, If we had kept on going without getting involved in other’s conflicts in our own region, We could have had foreign military bases in Different Arab countries by now and we might have provided them Nuclear Umbrella.

So @Mangus Ortus Novem , Pakistan lost its first chance to become a regional influencing power, We got a second chance in the Yemen conflict but the window was narrow for us to enter, Plus the glasses were all cony sharp.

Now, Point of this discussion is,

Whatever you guys know, Be it Political decisions, Decisions by dictators, Or maybe conflicts that halted our Progress, Bring it on here,
Was their any ambitious person in the past who ever thought of Making Pakistan an influential Military power ?

Hi,

Pakistani generals always chose Cowardice when chosing to become a regional power---.

The only one chance that they got---the Yemen crisis---one true chance of establishing themselves as a regional power---it got squandered.

See---the area that is pakistan has always been subjugated over the last thousand years---one army coming from one side and passing thru ansd the other army coming from other side and passing thru and what is pakistan---just trying to survive thru terrible time---.

The iranians have history of their conquests---the arabs have theirs---the afghans have theirs---the turks have theirs---but what is pakistan---they have nothing---.

Just name one general in the pakistan military who is a true warrior of the class of an invader---leading and invading army across and outside the region---.

Name one pakistani air force general who is a true warrior and would want to smash thru the enemy at any chance that it got---.

I would not say about the navy---. That is one force that has always stepped out of its and has a conquerer's mindset---but that is by t he nature of its design that the navy has that mindset---because they are always planning to fight away from the homeland in open seas or at enemy's coastline---.

Maybe for a change a Navy Commander In Chief may be the answer for pakistan's military's change of mindset---.

Hi,

Sir---you are incorrect in your statement---. 5 decades or 50 decades---the Pakistanis will stay COWARDS when it comes to conquest or become a regional power---.

Pak military is only good at doing 'service' related jobs in foreign lands like the UN military force---where the rules and guidelines are established by the white people---.

The moment when it came to be the lead and take charge---the AIR went out of the Pakistani leadership and millitary command's balloon---an utmost decision of cowardice and of such a strategical disaster that pakistani military general Gen Raheel Sharif could be the laughing stock in the books of history---stating---here is the general who was given the chance to become the true military regional force and he rejected it outright---.

Pakistanis are groomed to be followers and not leaders. Unfortunately neither our education system nor our institutions produce leaders. Perhaps this has to do with colonization of this land or some other historical phenomena.

If Muslims were to be united today and form a Khilafat, Pakistanis will only be providing foot soldiers while the leadership and the finances will come from Turks and Arabs.

zehni ghulams dont end up rulling and historically we have been zehni ghulams so no we are never leading!

when you have been used as cannon fodder and your identity and dignity smashed when you are the ruler and then you are not it is not easy to get up after being crushed to a pulp.
