AH1Z and Mi35 both can't be compared but it's something we say complement each other in different scenarios. As well as they have some similar roles but also have totally different roles as well like you can't transport any thing in an AH1Z.

You said it too early. AH-1Z is a brand new American helicopter with very potent avionics. And it does carry serious and very advanced load of weapons too.

I'm certain that Mi-35 is an outstanding machine but it won't be right to compare it with AH-1Z. Both belong to separate category of helicopters. Mi-28 or Ka-52 should make a better comparison.

Mi-28 compares with AH-1Z, both are attack. Mi-35 is assault and carries troops.

2. Its can carry troops, provide air cover
3. rescue mission too.. so best for counter insurgency... though this latest version is suitable for anti armor but not best as Vipers.. @soldier of Putin

This video depicts Iraqi Mi-35M "Hind-E" advanced helicopter gunships, of which the Iraqi armed forces only have a handful in inventory, taking the fight to the ISIS in Northern Iraq. A much larger analysis on the events currently unfolding in Iraq will be posted soon. In the meantime, check out this amazing footage shot by another Iraqi aircraft, possibly another Hind-E or one of their militarized Cessna Caravans, of what Iraq is doing to stop the ISIS's push toward Baghdad.

Note, this footage may be unsettling to some.

Are you high? Russian weaponry are notorious for being unreliable and as throwaway. You lost 6-7 aircrafts in one month so go figure. Lets not mention the fact the a Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter just crashed a couple weeks ago.

The US official also said that six Iraqi helicopters had been shot down and 60 damaged in combat between 1 January and the end of May. This represents a significant proportion of the Iraqi Army Aviation Command's assets. Another helicopter was shot down by a light anti-aircraft gun (LAAG) over Al-Saqlawiyah on 16 June; its two crew members were killed.

It is unclear what helicopters the Iraqis have lost, but militants have released footage shot using an infrared camera of heavy machine guns or LAAGs bringing down at least two Mi-24/35 combat helicopters carrying out low-altitude rocket attacks.

man thats insane.... this is why age of imperialism is long gone.. so smart weapons which can take armour, heli, air craft are now so portable and cheap...
u rightly said taht grwoing threta of ISIS (in case of Taliban failure to control AFG) and other outfits, we need Helis but if these are armed with modern weaponry, it would be very difficult to counter them...

Well realistically a number of 150-200 Helicopter gunship is idea to match the large number of soldiers on ground
that need protection from air. And also military size of 500,000 troops and 500,000 reserves need ample gunships

We can only archive this large number with Z-10 or MI-35 or mixture of both

I just feel that the MI-35 , is great platform as it can also carry Troops !!! That is just amazing feature on top of the Amazing fire power the helicopter has

Easily carry 8 troops or food supplies if it was a flood effected area etc
Or even special mission by Air drop troops on buildings and fortified places

The cobra fleet while its fantastic , addition , they can only play a marginal role due to low number of units 15 units only which is some what challenging to cover the vast terrain that Pakistan has and sometimes we have need to deploy troops to mountains quickly

I mean I still don't know what good will these copters be after he initial 1000 hell fire missiles are used ? the quantity is too low

MI-35 will certainly add a new dimension

That is 48 Soldiers moving one position to other , with Hell Lot of firepower from Air Support
with out needing JF17 thunders, 48 Commondo Units being dropped in strategic locations

The cobra Helis as good as they may be just do not offer that to us from military stand point

One cannot over look the importance of being able to suddenly bring in help or reinforcements to a hill or mountain top where lets say a ambush attack is on going

Sir we dont need 200 attack helis

MI 35 is true Multirole Helo 10 to 15 are great

For me MI 28 havoc we should buy atleast 25 will do wobders to army aviation strength

Well these are Attack and Support units , and Army size of 1,000,000 need , always need supplies and help

Water /Food / Medics / Air Lifting injured troops etc

Applications are endless

100-150 number of Mi-35 would be sufficient if we had a 15-17 year service period in mind

Which allows for enough units to remain in rotation , while also servicing certain units safely


The Z-10 offers ample fire power / attack

And MI-35 brings in appropriate RUGGEDNESS

I welcome this since there is a dire need and it is a great choice. However I will stress that Pakistan should get its own design and development program and facility since helicopters are not only needed for military purposes but also for policing and other civilian purposes as ambulances, transport in calamities, rescue and a lot more roles where aircraft cannot be used and thus there exists a much larger market for it too. Nothing is more beneficial than our own home grown technology and indigenous products.

Simple fact is Vipers are much more suited for anti-armour role. They are sleek and fast. Their job is to search, shoot and scoot. They are bit fragile for staying around in mountain areas and take bullets. Hinds on the other can take beating, They can stick around and support the troops much better in these areas and conditions.
You can always make one to perform the other role, they will do it, but it doesn't mean they are best at that.

if you can confirm the model and the specs of the MI-35 that are sold to Pakistan then it will be great. I guess they must be customised for Pakistan , all weather / day and night operation etc

Bell has recieved another 85 million dollar order for providing "goodies" for Pakistani Vipers... The deal is done.. The total worth 925+85 million $.

Nah man. AH-1Z has its own significance. On the other hand, Mi-35 is a flying tank and give some serious damage.
