I suspect the vast majority of rank and file soldiers support closing the supplies, as does the population. That's what democracy is all about. Certain elements in the top brass (military and political) will have vested interests to sell the country yet again for private gain, but their coersion needs to be documented so that people can hold them accountable.

If Kayani or some top general caves in, let them face up to the growing mutiny.

We should charge the US "parking charges". Just like they withheld F-16s we'd paid for, and had us pay "parking charges" while giving us a tiny hope that the US just might give us our aircraft if we kept paying.

The US supplies moving through have drastically effected our National Highway system, we should charge 'em enough ta build a few new "motorways".

On a different note, learning from our F-16 "parking charges" saga - that's something India should learn from. The Israelis, with ample access supplies and spare-parts still say that these birds are "hangar queens" - India might discover that for itself when it is at the mercy of Uncle Sam's benevolence.

I think we all know exactly where the PPP (& PML-N) stand. There were rumors of Imran Khan being 'lobbied' for with the support of the Pakistan military. With the Pakistan Military taking fundamentally different positions from the PPP (& PML-N), the rumors do not seem to be very unfounded. As long as the PPP is in power, we cannot expect them for a fundamental change in the course of events that have been plaguing Pakistan, so we will have to wait for the next regime & hope it's Imran Khan.

Why are we so naive to think that when or if IK takes the helm he will suddenly change things for the good.

For IK to have Qureshi become his VP speaks volumes of what IK will be in the future. Shah Medmood Qureshi is the one who favored the Kerry Lugar Bill! Doesn't anyone remember this?
