Pakistan Beat India to qualify for Polo World Cup

ISLAMABAD: Sports enthusiasts of Pakistan, who were disappointed by the dejected performance of cricket team, have got something to cheer-for as the national Polo team defeated India by 9-8 to qualify for next year's Polo World Cup.

Pakistan beat India in the qualifiers of the FIP World Cup Zone D play-offs, played at Tianjin China, said a press release issued here.

India got a flying start in the match and took a 4-1 lead after initial rounds, but Pakistan fought back to level the match 8-8 and eventually won it 9-8 in sudden death stage.

It was Muhammad Saqib Khan Khakwani who scored the winning goal in sudden death period. Saqib was adjudged as the “most valuable player” for his outstanding performance during the game.

Pakistani team was led by Team Captain Major Haseeb Minhas. The team also included Zain Khakwani and Ahmed Ali Tiwana.

Reserve players were Sufi Muhammad Amir and Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana while team manager was Qublai Alam Khan.

Brits stole Polo from India and Pakistan and made their own rules. They now play the so called World Cup under their rules which are suitable for the Brits. Polo has been played in North Pakistan and North India for thousands of years way before the Brits stole and changed the rules.

Not only Polo, hockey also gone through many changes which help Europeans and Australia.. Otherwise we two were the undisputed champions in Hockey.. Anyway congrats Pakistan..
