Why would they talk? They know our position on Kashmir. We have nothing to add. Neither do they for that matter.

Pak has no interest in talks. Pak is in a strong position. Pak should continue on all fronts and find ways to outmanoeuvre India diplomatically and through its proxies and regional allies. Their position is weakened post-balakot and because of subtle political shifts in recent weeks. Hence they are all out chest thumping defiantly.

Behind the bravado they are however actually questioning whether they truly are as invincible militarily as they thought they were, why haven't they succeeded in isolating pk politically when not long ago we were basically a basket case pariah state, why is it so hard to force USA to deal with us when apparently we have directly caused their defeat at the hands of the Taliban, why did blacklisting of pk fail when it seemed so straightforward, why when India tries to behave with pk like Israel does against the Palestinians is it rebuffed by international and neutral bodies.... Lots more questions for India to answer because of the failure of Modi to actually tangibly deliver on his propaganda. A year ago, Indians thought it was easy to teach pk whatever lesson it felt like teaching us, now they aren't so sure.

IK should continue simply pretending to want talks and pretending to want meaningful peace - luckily for you and I, behind this clever facade, he knows better than to expect anything sensible from Hindutva.

Time have changed and we are not in 2011 as indian govt now is much hostile and have played important role to put us in fatf so backing india is unjustified and traitorship which this govt is doing and you are doing hipocracy by supporting such acts of govt and not considering sacrifices of kashmiris , you should be ashamed of your such attitude.We not need indian help in u.n and not want any of their vote unless they end brutality in kashmir and terrorism in balochistan

My answer to this thread in very simple way , Indian and Israeli product of ISIS shouldn't be tag to Pakistan , here is proof from their own media made mistake showed the flag of Israel during ISIS training in Isreali camp. ISLAMABAD: Absence of another candidate from the Asia-Pacific Group for a two-year tenure of a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council has enabled India to bag the group’s unanimous endorsement.

India’s candidature for the Security Council’s non-permanent seat was endorsed by the 55-member Asia-Pacific Group on Tuesday.

India’s Permanent Representative at the UN Amb Syed Akbaruddin in a celebratory tweet said: “A unanimous step. Asia-Pacific Group @UN unanimously endorses India’s candidature for a non-permanent seat of the Security Council for 2 year term in 2021/22. Thanks to all 55 members for their support.”

The voting for the seat will take place in the UN General Assembly next year.

Pakistan is part of the group. Therefore, Indians began claiming that Pakistan too had endorsed its candidature. “Any uncontested election gets automatic endorsement from its regional group. And that’s what’s happened from Asia-Pacific group of which Pakistan is a part. India’s election is next year by the General Assembly. Then it’s up to Pakistan how to vote,” a Pakistani diplomat at the UN mission explained to Dawn.

A similar situation took place in 2010.

The 10 seats for non-permanent members at the UNSC have been divided into five regional groups. The Asia-Pacific Group, because of its huge geographical expanse, has relatively looser coordination.

There aren’t either established practices of rotation of the two seats allocated to the group, one of which falls vacant every year.

South Asian countries as a tradition rarely contest each other. The only known exception is that of 1975 when India and Pakistan contested the same seat and Pakistan won after eight rounds of voting.

Pakistan would next run for a non-permanent seat in 2024.

Pakistan has also benefited from the arrangement. The group, including India, recently endorsed Pakistan’s candidatures for the slots of vice president of Economic and Social Council, member of committee on contributions, and member of Unicef’s executive board.

The UNSC is about as obsolete as the rest of the UN. typically the US, UK, and France vote one way and Russia and China vote the other.

The UN should just be disbanded altogether....its time to start something fresh and new....post WW2 world was like 70 years ago.
