Pakistan Army troops shot down Indian Spy Quadcopter in Bagh Sector along Line of Control. DG ISPR

probably electronic warfare.this kind of indian activity is dangerous.they want to see hidden posts deep inaside our territory.they want to attack somewhere but they don't know our positions.

You can't claim to "shoot down" a drone that has zero signs of damage--none whatsoever. I have operated that same drone and it has range of about 4 miles.

Tut tut, whatchu talkin' 'bout?

You can clearly see the "bullet hole" on "top" of the drone. 8-)

When you claim DJI, I am saying we do not use DJI!

Well that is what you believe that you don't use DJI. We never know Indian army might be using it after buying it from the open market. That is the only justification we have for those pictures and footage that PA released.

@Areesh

The difference between what ISPR released - DJI Pic and what Zarvan posted in the link of the Major (who apparently shot down the drone) - DRDO Netra, should be an indication enough for you to think over.

Won't waste much time on this. I can only put across facts as they stand, having been on the user side in the region concerned. DJI is militarily useless, apart from marking my position for others, as a military commander, and does not afford me any advantage by any stretch of imagination.

Also, you may want to visit google map and see what assets/infrastructure is on our side in terms of UAV deployment and coverage ..

Cheers and belated new years wishes to you and yours. May the new year bring new tidings which are joy giving and prosperous.

Out.

As for IOK, tell me how many “commandos” has Pak sent ? Why would we sent troops when you clowns are getting your salad tossed by Kashmiri boys and alleged Pakistani mujahideen?

Kashmiri Boys and mujahideen are tossing salads for IA, lol.

I dont know if you wrote that intentionally but that was quite epic.

@hellfire @Oscar fun post.

I have operated that same drone and it has range of about 4 miles. It either ran out of battery or lost signal, nothing shot it down. I even crashed a few drones so human error is a another real possibility. The environment it operated in was ideal for losing signal.

Then you would also know that in case of signal loss or battery depletion these drones are pre-programmed to either return to 'home' or return to the position where signal was last received. Even a shoddy $30 drone is programmed to do that.

If Pakistan had anything to do with it coming down then they used electronic warfare but that is doubtful since they don't seem to employ anything capable of doing that in the area at least not that I have seen.

Simple rifle fire. Has happened many times.

And they, specifically DJ Mavics, still lose signal and battery even while trying to return, in one video the drones loses signal and the app crashes, in another video the drone begins to automatically return home but the battery drains and it crashes while being guided home automatically.

So bullets just happened to precisely hit not one propeller but all 4 on one side of the drone only? I can believe 1 prop can be destroyed by a bullet but all 4? I don't think it's plausible. once a single propeller blade breaks the drone loses complete control so while the drone was tumbling more bullets sheared off the other propellers? Or perhaps you're saying that a hail of bullets from multiple automatic weapons all hit the propellers only?

The pic that you and @Windjammer posted is consistent with a typical propeller strike. The drone likely flew into a tree or hit the side of a structure such as rock, hillside, ect due to lost signal, drained battery, app crash or operator error. The snow and low altitude meant that there is no damage.

Side note, in cold weather plastic is very brittle and batteries drain faster.

While it is entirely possible that the drone was not shot down since its casing remains largely intact and the only visible damage is to the propellers, electronic warfare can not be ruled out.
In case of a quadcopter/drone crash, the propellers are usually the first part to be damaged beyond repair. I have built and flown several UAVs/quads in university and we always take the precaution of having a handful of spare props ready when we're testing in the field because while the rest of the craft may be undamaged, the props usually never are.

This is very true, most people that have operated drones would say the same thing. I'm neutral in the argument but from a strictly technical/hypothetical view point it appears the propellers struck something or the drone was possibly jammed causing it to lose signal and crash.

@ptldM3 You are trying very hard my friend.
Albeit, what you say is possible but why do you ignore the possibility that in fact it was shot down and then a second one also brought down the next day. What about the earlier one, footage from which revealed that it actually was launched from an Indian military installation.
Hell even the Americans didn't make this many excuses when they lost a drone to the Iranians as much as you are making for the Indians.

This guy bipin stiltskin need to STFU, talks so much shite. And yeah Indian armed forces use commercial drones LOL.

China must be blushing right now.
