Indian firing on LoC kills one Pakistan soldier, critically injures another

ISLAMABAD: Unprovoked firing from the Indian side on the Line of Control (LoC) killed one Pakistani solider and critically injured another, Express News reported on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident took place at 10:30am and there was no evident reason for the firing.

Naik Muhammad Khan, the soldier who is critically injured will undergo treatment.

Pakistan is expected to take the matter up with India as this is not the first incident of its nature.

On June 19, a Pakistani girl was killed when Indian troops opened fire across the de facto border that divides disputed Kashmir.

Poonch: Pakistani troops violated ceasefire by firing towards the Indian Army posts in Poonch sector near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir today.

"Pakistani troops have targeted Indian posts by firing rocket projectile grenades (RPGs) and heavy machine guns along LoC in Doda Battalion forward area in Poonch district since 0730 hours today," a senior Army officer said.

Indian border troops retaliated effectively, resulting in heavy exchanges which were on for five hours, the officer said. There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing, he said.

“Pak troops have targeted Indian posts by firing rocket propelled grenades (RPGs) and heavy machine guns along the LoC in Doda Battalion forward area in Poonch district since 0730 hours today,” a senior Army officer said.

There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing, he said.

Senior Army officials were monitoring the situation following the incident and troops have been asked in other forward areas to intensify round the clock vigilance.

In fresh tension along Line of Control (LoC), the defacto border between India and Pakistan in Indian Kashmir, Indian and Pakistani soldiers exchanged heavy fire on Saturday. Pakistan army said one of its soldier was killed in the ‘unprovoked’ Indian firing.

New Delhi, July 27/Nationalturk – Indian and Pakistani troops Saturday reportedly exchanged heavy fire along Line of Control (LoC), the defacto border between the two nations in Indian administered Kashmir, on Saturday. Pakistan army said one of its soldier was killed in the ‘unprovoked’ Indian firing.

“Pakistan troops targeted Indian posts by using heavy machine guns and firing rocket projectile grenades (RPGs) along LoC in Doda Battalion forward area in Poonch district since early hours today,” a senior army officer said.

He said Indian soldiers also returned the fire. “The heavy exchange of fire between the two sides is going on from five hours”.

The official said there was no loss or injury to Indian side in the firing.

Sources said army has rushed more troops to the Shahpur area, where Indian and Pakistani soldiers are exchanging heavy fire.

‘Indian army opened unprovoked firing, violated ceasefire’

Pakistan army said in Islamabad that one of its soldier was killed and another critically injured in ‘unprovoked’ firing by Indian troops.

“The incident took place on Rawlakot’s Nezapir sector near the LoC at about 10:30 am. Soldier Asim Iqbal was killed and another Naik Mohammad Khan critically wounded in the Indian firing,” Pakistan’s army spokesman said. .

He said Indian army opened unprovoked firing and violated ceasefire along Line of Control (LoC).

India and Pakistan regularly accuse each other of violating a ceasefire along the LoC, which has largely held since 2003.

Border tension spiked between New Delhi and Islamabad early this year when a total of six soldiers were killed in exchanges along the de facto border in Kashmir. Three Indian and Pakistani soldiers were killed. Indian army had alleged that one of it soldier was beheaded by Pakistani soldiers, a charge denied by Islamabad.

RIP................... but kisi ka sir kalam kar le jaana aur firing me maut hona alag baat hai.... firing to border me hota hai rahta hai..

RIP to the pakistani soldier .

If pakistan has not violated the the truce by starting the firing , the loss of life could have been avoided .

I have a question for everyone. What would India gain by unprovoked firing. EVEN IF we wanted to send weapons and money to pakistani rebels like BLA, we would send it through Afghan border not through Indo pak border. We all know who needs such cover fire. If you start firing, we would retaliate. If one of yours die in that retaliation, neither India nor Indian Army is responsible.

Another ceasefire violation today in Samba sectore. 2nd violation today. BSF is retaliating with heavy fire.

@Umair Nawaz Actually this was the answer for firing on Indian posts 5 times this month. You asked for it.

P.S. - Is any member realizing as yet that PA is losing soldiers for the sake of infiltrating some
blind weed-smoking jihadis across the border?

Truly it must suck to be a PA troop - knowing that you are just a puppet and a human shield for
weed-smoking jihadis. I wonder if your govt. and PA HQ cares more about jihadis than your soldiers:lol:

And these weed-smokers who manage to infiltrate to J&K are either killed or captured within a
couple of months as they're activity inside India does not go unnoticed by Army intel.

@nuclearpak @Jungibaaz

u know what to do.

Go to the border, you will find IA waiting for your answer.

Yes the great answers in which u were moaning that Pak Army had cut off your heads:rofl:
