What's new

Pakistan army purchased Bombardier Global 5000

I hope we can afford the LUXURY of more VIP travels . Maybe a new plane was long due, other than that i am a bit concerned!
If the PA was gonna buy this jet...they could've instead coordinated with PAF...
...and gone for Bombardier Global 6000. It would've been slightly more expensive I assume but it would've been the first step to build a sizable quantity of those over time. Later PAF could've acquired Turkish HAVA SOJ(also based on Bombardier Global 6000) to replace or augment Falcon DA 20s...
...and then way way later PAF could've upgraded the Erieye AWACS to GlobalEye...
...maybe even PN could've used this platform as the basis of LRMPA(though I'm not sure if it meets the requirements they have set).

Acquiring the Bombardier Global 6000 for civilian and military purposes would've streamlined the cost and logistics for it.

If all three branches can try coordinating for the helicopters...why can't they try that for jets?

@Quwa ur thoughts on this?

Just fly PIA. There are already more than enough aircraft - from the non AWACS Saab-2000 to at least half a dozen other planes with the armed forces to fly around in. This is shameful use of the country's funds - luxury jets for generals to fly around in. And the most expensive option.

Operating PIA planes for VIP flights is far more expensive. Army Chief is not going to take an Airbus for official visit to Tehran or Moscow. Saab-2000 is short range.

If people actually did some research they would understand that these light jets save costs in the long run being fast and efficient.

Those are air force assets , not army.
Know how large organizations work.

:D:D:D they have no funds shortages as they own 30bn$ businesses too
20 billion phai jii.
And there are 9.2 million beneficiaries of that bijnis
The families of ex and serving servicemen. And the free medical for them.
I agree army should immediately shut down all those businesses if the government can establish a similar structure for the look after of injured, disabled soldiers and their families, and provide free medical for life to all of them?

20 billions were 15 years ago and still its same ? 30 is minimum estimate of today .

Also, it is safer as you would assume that the pilots trained to operate this plane and fly the PA Chief will be trained and disciplined to operate the equipment to a far higher and safer standard than PIA pilots(ie Karachi incident recently).

Was 0.2 million USD given by the British in 1954.
Today grown to 30 billion.
Then people say military cannot run the country
Increased their worth by 150,000 times.
That's some success story.
americans gave 14 billion in aid too in 0post 1958 ayub era.
where is 20 trillion of that now

Military aircraft do not follow the airways due security reasons.
Military aircraft are cleared to fly IFR/VFR depending on their mission profile.
They are not required to disclose a passenger list to the ATCs of the region.
This is a basic requirement for military command travel domestic and international.
If 5 people have to travel to remote airfields, it is a waste to fly a Boeing or Airbus.

PIA cannot follow this protocol.

PAF have two
