Talking about concealment and camuflage reminds me of an incident I heard about an under strengthed company level Pak unit during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. It was the East Pak theater and the venue was a bordering town. Things were getting pretty rough for the estranged and entangled Pak forces - without any air, armored or artillery support whatsoever against the overwhelming 10x larger enemy forces coupled with extensive collusion from the local rebels and insurgents - fighting in different isolated pockets. The Indian invasion was going on in full throttle at all fronts with the direct Soviet engagement in armaments, logistics, planning, intelligence etc. unheard of since the Korean/Vietnam wars. As such, the Indian high command decided to invade that almost deserted town with a company of Sikh soldiers supported by a couple of tanks. Initially they faced no resistance nor could locate any Pak positions. As they zeroed in within the town's perimeters all hell broke loose. The Pak forces made a perfect camuflage. Not a single Indian soldier went back alive. And, the Indians didn't send any more expeditions to take that town till the end of the war.....
