Pakistan Air Force to procure Belgian C-130 Transport Aircraft | June 2022 .

A short follow-up report about the former ex-Belgian Air Force Hercules C-130H that have been sold to the Pakistan Air Force.
This week, two Functional Check Flights over Belgium were carried out with ex-Belgian Air Force C-130H's from Brussels Airport.
On Monday August 1st C-130 4479 (CH-09) flown as Pakistan Air Force PAAF479 performed a FCF over Belgium for about 2 hours, which included a couple of approaches at Koksijde Air Base and on Thursday August 4th C-130 4482 (CH-11) flown as Pakistan Air Force PAAF482 could be observed during taxi, departure and arrival at runway 25R.

The first aircraft was delivered to Pakistan a couple of days back & the remaining six are expected to follow soon.

As I posted before. Its 4479 and not 4482 on delivery flight. So 4482 is wrong serial. (photoproof!!!!)

It was indeed 4479 that departed EBMB as PAAF543 on 10 August at 06:27 UTC. It arrived at Tekurdag Corlu Ataturk Airport (TEQ) about 4.5 hours later, around 11:05 UTC. The aircraft departed TEQ, again as PAAF543, on 11 August at around 07:30 UTC and arrived with the same call sign at Nur Khan Pakistan Air Force Base 8.15 hours later, at around 15:45 UTC.

As a proof, I join a photo made by fellow spotter Jos Schoofs of the aircraft during take-off from RWY07L on 10 August at 08:27 LT. It is not a high quality photo as the aircraft was expected to depart from RWY07R, from where the photo was made. On 11 August, a second C-130 was arriving along the same route at around the same time at Nur Khan. That aircraft had no call sign. A screenshot from Flightradar24 is joined to proof that 4479 arrived indeed with call sign PAAF543 at Nur Khan.

We badly need them as PAF operations in recent floods showed too . Earthquake 2005, Floods 2010,2022 e.t.c and for Strategic reasons too .

with country the size of Pakistan and the commitment of various sort with it needs close to three full squadrons of C130 types versatile transport and utility planes

I believe PAF should build a fleet fo C130 H as much as they can, it can be supported locally also and PAF has the infra to do it

Fully support the move, as well as any move to get additional used C-130s with reasonable life left in them to augment the fleet. Anyone saying, obsolete just sounds like they have zero idea what they are talking about. Look at the specs of the aircraft, price of the used vs new aircraft, role of the aircraft and then complain.

With that said, PAF should augment the transport fleet as best as they can with used C-130 BUT needs to start looking in other locations for options for the future. As i am not sure how readily c-130s with good amount of life in them will be able to be procured. If they will be easy, then great, get them, otherwise, Pakistan needs to start looking for the next transport aircraft for its purposes. To that the C-390 and Y-9 both fit the bill. They are similar to the Herc in performance but should be far less expensive to procure.

How much commission did Bajwa pocket out of the facilitation of this deal. I believe the deal should be scrutinized for potential corruption and kickbacks…
