What's new

Pakistan Air Force to procure Belgian C-130 Transport Aircraft | June 2022 .

Hi,

There is no doubt that we would want new over used---we don't have funds so we make the best of what is available.

That is what weapons world is---you prepare to fight with what you have and what you can get---that is what your focus is on to prepare for battle---.
I agree.

so one c130 was overhauled before delivery as well , ex-BAF C130 was repainted and got new number 483 and underwent test flight after overhaul.

PAF has bought seven former Belgische Luchtmacht (Belgian Air Force) C-130H Hercules transport aircraft.

On 25 July 2022, C-130H serial 4483 (ex BLu CH12, c/n 382-4483), in full Pakistan Air Force markings made a two hour test flight in Belgian airspace. The first ferry flights to Pakistan are expected on 30 July.

Pakistan started the initial negotiations to buy the Belgian C-130Hs in 2019 and completed this in 2021. When all aircraft are delivered the transport capacity will be increased to 21 aircraft, unless some older models will be withdrawn from use.

The former Belgian C-130Hs that have been sold to Pakistan are: CH01, CH04, CH05, CH07, CH09, CH11 and CH12.

The Pakistan Air Force serials are related to the construction numbers of the aircraft.

The sooner the better. PAF needs to get it's hands on at least 2 squadrons of Hercs or a similar class to even out the burden with existing inventory.

So the ex-Belgian ones should form 1 squadron. I imagine the PAF is seeking another 7-8 C-130B/E/Hs from somewhere else (?)

PS: An airlift force of 30-32 C-130s is pretty large.

kindly always provide link . I Requested before as well . Thanks .

If fund permitted the PAF should go for five A-400 Atlas's. It's an exceptional transport.

The beast and the beautiful.
I wish the PAF could have them in inventory.
Keeping in view the political and military realignment of the world let's leave it to some sensible professionals to decide for or against.

In my humble opinion, The Embraer C390 Millennium seems to be the only long term replacement for PAF's C130s. :)
