Sorry for being a bit brutally honest but there is no way karachi can compete with other countries only nowdays it is looking somewhat better. There is a good reason we don't get millions of tourists why would they come there ? not only would they be leered at if they wore certain clothing but aside from that the coastline generally looks horrendous since pakistani masses have little sense of aesthetics and environmental awareness and authorities have provided little infrastructure - even now it still looks so dull and dry and has no skyline had it been properly beautified, developed and maintained and a bit more tolerant attitude like muslims countries of Malaysia, UAE, Morrocco or Turkey it may have been a big holiday destination or been like beach cities of dubai,gold coast,miami or rio there is certainly plenty of space for it .
I really hope one day they put some greenery and some type of palm trees a modern boardwalk/sidewalk and ban cars from going on the beach so it looks more tourist friendly and less polluted and overcrowded. I am hoping I will be wrong and crescent bay in karachi will atleast be very clean,green give it some sort of modern waterfront and be comparable to other coastal cities.......

karachi is nowhere near close to others.......

maybe one day.........

I just saw the raw beauty of your beaches and percieved a potential as I wish your Pak a prosperous and happy future. I mean look at your coastline from indian border to iranian border...Wow!!!

Tolerance...yes, yes... there in lies redemption.

If a desert in arabia can become a Western tourist destination then why not in your Pak? Also, your Turk friends rope in millions of tourists and billions in revenues...same storry in North Africa... I guess all of these countries share your religion. NO?

Last year Chinese spent 200Bln overseas! If you can manage to get 10% of that well...good thing really.

Thx for your kind words but these countries are way more civilized, tolerant and educated than pakistan. Pakistani government has never focused on equality, tourism or education or tried to maintain their historic,natural and or cultural sites and in fact gone out of it's way to actually repress the public in many way. Sadly mob and sectarian violence is also very common in pakistan.
If you dare have the audacity to suggest all pakistanis including ahmadis should be treated equally (as Jinnah wanted) it's like sacrilege or you are labelled as a traitor there's not as much of this vile attitude in the likes of Turkey or Morocco and they don't force their religious beliefs upon others as much. Pakistan does not deserve to get tourists until there's some major progression .
