Hey mods,admins,
Please delete this thread as its offensive against our country. If a thread like Indian a mistke or flawed state it would have been opened in any of indian forums it would have been deleted immediately, why we should care what mj akber says? by calling Pakistan a flawed idea he's just saying that Pakistan 's a mistake, how can this be tolerated? anrent we becoming somewhat more lenient,by tolerating this insult of our country we'll encorage indian people here to start posting every anti pakistan crap.
Futhermore isn't it an implied insult of our national heros who made this country?

indian muslims are like IOK citizens 30-40 years ago.. soon or later they will realize the bitter reality of Hindustan.

so we should care for what an indian writer thinks?

How about caring about what a Pakistani professor has to say?

"Towards theocracy? State and society in Pakistan today.", Frontline, Volume 26 - Issue 06 :: Mar. 14-27, 2009.

Author: PERVEZ AMIRALI HOODBHOY, Professor and Chairman of the Physics Department at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.

Whether they realize that 'bitter reality' is of no concern of ours, just as one would expect Pakistan to be of no concern of Indian Muslims like MJ Akbar - he knows where to shove his crap.

Now where is that Maulana lecturing Musharraf about comments regarding Indian Muslims?

It seems to me that said Mualana should not be hypocritical and also direct his ire at people like MJ Akbar who should stop questioning Pakistan.

Off topic, but your first post so I won't delete it.

We are discussing MJ Akbar's views here.

Please introduce yourself on the intro section.

Didn't Darkstar explained that MJ Akbar is not Muslim AgNoStIc MuSliM;

The guy is not an Indian muslim, MJ akbar has a muslim sounding name, thats all.

Just cus somebody is called akbar, or jawed, we immediately think they are muslims. That is not always the case.

He has obviously gone back to the roots of his grandfather prayag, a Hindu orphan raised by a muslim family. That's why he has named his own son prayag and given a hindu name to his daughter.

Do not castigate Indian muslims because of this.

Famous pakistani journalist Nadira has married wrinkly old V.s Naipaul, and prances around as lady naipaul, defending this hindtuva sympathiser, who has won the nobel laureate solely on the basis of attacking islam and Pakistan.

Does that mean that Muslims from other countries should castigate Pakistan for having given birth to the journalist Nadira Khanum Alevi alias Lady Naipaul, once famously called the Bride of Dracula?

I missed that post by DS.

he apparently converted to Islam to marry a Muslims girl says wiki, not sure what his current status is.

In any case, the Musharraf Maulana should still take time out to castigate Mj Akbar for commenting on something that is patently none of his business, per the logic of the maulana of course.

Funny people. You think because he criticize Pakistan he is not muslim. You cannot understand why muslim criticize Pakistan.

No, whats funny is the hypocrisy in criticizing Pakistanis for criticizing India, while Muslims and non-Muslim Indians do the same.

The maulana who responded to Musharraf was being cheered by Indians, so apply the same logic here ...

MJ Akbar is journalist. He criticize anything what is your problem?

Musharraf is politician. So better he look at his own problems than criticize problem of muslim in India. Muslim in Pakistan face much more problem than muslim in India.

Second, if Maulanas comment hypocritic then Darkstar's even more hypocrtiic because Darkstar accuse him of fake muslim.

You cannot come up with arbitrary restrictions on who can comment and who cannot - If Akbar can comment then so can Musharraf and any other Pakistani.

'Akbar and other like-minded Indians should look at their own problems instead of criticizing Pakistan and Pakistanis'.

Actually DS's post is not hypocritical at all - he is making a legitimate point about names not being indicative of faith, and that Akbar's actions in naming his children Hindu names imply that perhaps he isn't spiritually a Muslim anymore.

The hypocrisy here is entirely that displayed by Indians cheering the maulana's comments to Musharraf, and blatantly accepting Akbar's right to comment on Pakistan and Pakistanis.

No. It is not arbitrary. Musharraf want to project Pakistan like saviour of Muslim. That is false. This is why he should refrain from commenting.

Journalist can comment on any topic. He do not represent any country.

He try to discredit MJ Akbar saying that he do not represent opinion of Indian muslim. Some other also try same tactic with Maulana Madani.

Fact is that both are muslim (you can ask them) and nobody except Ishwar can judge them if they are true muslim.

No. I already explain why.

It is an arbitrary restriction you wish to impose - Akbar is commenting as an Indian, Musharraf was commenting as a Pakistani, their professions have nothing to do with their right to comment. In addition, Musharraf is not even a 'politician' any more.

Akbar is very explicitly painting India as some sort of 'savior' and negating the idea of Pakistan, Musharraf never said anything of the sort directly.

Akbar's post is far more offensive.

One person can never be used as an example of the opinions of an entire community - that was DS's point and it was legitimate.

No. I already explain why.
Not really.

You are confusing 'freedom of speech' with other thing. Musharraf has freedom of speech in India. He came to India, no? Nobody stop him from commenting on Indian muslim.

But some Indian muslim feel that Pakistani try to divide India by saying that muslim only safe in Pakistan. So Musharraf should not comment in such a manner when muslim in Pakistan suffering so much. It is hypocrisy.

a lot of people here are commenting on m j akbar not being a true muslim like u,his grandfather being hindu.but it is a well known fact that all the population in subcontinent were at time hindu.islam in india came with arab traders, intruders and saints.so i guess majority of people here must be havin same blood in their veins as hindu. so doesnt dat put us in same category as m j akbar.
