Talk of keeping religion & sports separate..

BTW what happens if there are Christian or Hindu players in the Pak team ? Will they too be 'ordered' to display their love ?

Silly suggestion.

Pak team should wear armbands to show love for Prophet (PBUH) | The Nation

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ch Zaka Ashraf should order his team to wear black armbands in their opening World Cup Twenty20 match against New Zealand on Sunday to show their displeasure over the US-made film insulting Islam and targeting the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to show their love and passion for their Prophet.

This would send a message across the globe that how much Muslims love their Prophet (PBUH) and they can't allow anyone to even think about using or making any thing against our beloved Prophet (PBUH).

Pakistan cricket team skipper M Hafeez, when called upon for the prize distribution ceremony, he must express in the best possible way and words his utter disappointment and resentment over the US-made film against Islam and if any of the Pakistani player managed to win man of the match award, he must follow the same example and speak out against the film to register his sentiments. This would send a very clear message to the world community that Muslims across the globe are united under one umbrella and can't bear any vicious propaganda against Islam or Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Just on this other thread a fellow countryman of yours was advocating peacful protests, rather i must say objections as opposed to violence.

i dont think you indians have any shame left in you when you also object to this action.

You guys found a reason to monger here too.

Principles, what principles?

BTW, did the Muslim Indians also ordered their fellow Hindu Indians to take part in the protest against Innocent Muslims?

It is wise to keep Religion, Sports & Politics should be kept seperate & it is accepted by majority of countries across the globe.
But some gulf countries & Pakistan are exception because they dont go with the main stream in this issue.

So despite I too think sports ppl should not show off their religious likes during matches or games but its their internal matter what they command to their cricketers to do in exhibiting the their protest against US film, we should not interfere in it.

Whats your problem ?

All I have done is to post an article I read and expressed my views on a suggestion someone has made to the PCB.

Why are you going off on a tangent and generalizing all Indians ?.. and please be careful of your choice of words ( ref bold part above). You will not appreciate my views on ' You Pakistanis " .

Lets keep things civil .

they are blowing it out of propotions, just ignore these idiots who are publishing and they will lose interest being so sensitive will instigate islam haters to come with more such stuff....

Check out the names of Pakistani T20 squad. How many of them are hindu or Christians?

Right now, may be none of them...(although there were in the past). The suggestion stays good then, isn't it?

Now isn't it a silly question?

What's a more peaceful way of protesting than that?

Absolutely right, i think every Pakistani should learn it from BCCI and GOI about how to keep sports and politics on separate path.

Alhamdulillah, if they do this no one can stop them from winning the cup inshallah.

People here will love to see that happen. What's better than this....?

Yeah i must agree with you, people really blowing it out of proportion.Haven't you seen them getting a headache over just a black band.

Better contact ICC to do something about it.That black armband looks so horrible, you know.
It causes you nightmares especially if a bowler is wearing it.

Firstly its only a suggestion someone has made to the PCB.

Next, its not my country, not my team not my Cricket Board , I couldn't care less if they wore Arm bands or Alice Bands.

Not that these are going to make a diff to the next film maker - he may not be from a nation that watches or plays cricket.

I still feel religion & sports need to stay apart.

People has the right to suggest, just like you have the right to discuss it & comment on it.Who knows the cricket team members may have already considered that.
Whatever they'll do,it's up to them. They feel that they should protest in a peaceful way. They can.
If they feel it,not that way, then they are free.

I'll suggest it to Saeed Ajmal at least,to wear a black band or black turban or whatever to lodge his protest over ICC's most stupid decision of the year.

Ok..how does this help here? Are americans playing cricket ???

rubbing these arm bands in front of players of other countries like New Zealand(all christians)..is that the whole point of these useless exercise

Whats your problem ?

My problem is with hypocrisy and pesudo 'Holier than Thou' BS.

Your views are much appreciated, but i got stuck on the fact that on one side you guys have stuffed every thread on this subject by suggesting that 'it's ok to protest, but hey, dont burn, break and kill people', but at the same time you showed your 'distaste' when we were trying to object to the movie in a very peaceful manner.

Why are you going off on a tangent and generalizing all Indians ?.. and please be careful of your choice of words ( ref bold part above). You will not appreciate my views on ' You Pakistanis " .

Oh yeah...

We cant concentrate on individuals here. Unfortunatley, 'a' indian represents roughly whole of india. It's just like when you people cant differentiate between some Pakistani members who condone violence and then blame every Pakistani for it. It's just like as you people cant differentaite between people burning and destoying their own country's property and the rest of Pakistanis who have been suggesting for peaceful and civilized protests.

So, when you can generlize 'all Muslims' and the entire Pakistani Cricket Team and its managemnet, boy oh boy, i can sure do the same for 'you indians'

P.S. BTW, did you see the remarks of other indians on this very thread? They doesnt seem to accept a peacful protest either? And hence my 'you indians'.

Moreover, 'you indians' have been suggesting 'us Pakistanis' on various threads to 'guide' and object to the actions of those Pakistanis who have been creating violence in the country and asking for killing those who have made the movie, failing which they have accused (all) the moderate Pakistanis for condoning their violent acts, so i too ask you to do the same and to 'guide' your other countrymen, or else, the 'you indians' will remain as such.

Those with a Chip on their shoulder have to find answers themselves.

One needs to have the ability to seperate the grain from the chaff, generalistions cannot help but create more divisions

I do not take ownership for the opinions of another, I am answerable to myself and for what I do or say.

As brought out in post # 7, I still feel that religion & sports need to stay apart and there is a need to differentiate between nationalism & religion.

.
who is writing this article? stupid suggestion, why mix sport and religion?

.
Instead the Pakistan cricket team should wear armbands mourning the lost of 20+ lives, that should send a right signal.

Any way this just my feeling and its better if sport and religion are not mixed.
