Pak endeavouring to seek nuclear energy from China: Aziz
ISLAMAABAD: Reiterating the government resolve to meet energy requirements of country, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said Tuesday Pakistan government is endeavouring to seek nuclear energy from China.

Negotiations with China are going on to seek cooperation and collaboration in nuclear energy, coal energy and alternate energy with a view to meet our energy requirements, he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of two-day Pak-China Energy Forum here.

Pakistan and China are already working on joint ventures in various fields and hopefully same spirit will prevail in nuclear energy, he hoped.

Establishment of mega oil refinery and oil storage at Deep Sea Gwadar Port is in pipeline, Shaukat said and added that China and Central Asian republics can benefit a lot from this project.

China has offered to issue permit to Pakistan regarding oil and gas exploration in the sea and progress in this connection is expected in near future, he informed.

The Chinese Energy Minister speaking on the occasion informed that negotiations on Pak-China free trade agreement are in progress and it will bring about positive results in near future. He described Pakistan was the best friend of China among neighbours.
