So a video was released by ISPR of COAS visiting Frontlines along the Afghan border & in it new types of vests where shown.
While PA Officers in the past have had separate vests than regular soldiers but they also have gotten new types.

Starting with what appears to be new type of heavy ceramic vests in use by SSG

No mag pouches on these new ones

In addition there is this new type , which has a relatively modern design .

It is very similar to the current standard vest but it is definitely not the same , the current standard vest is this one below

. . . . .
Army uniforms have jumped leap years over the last decade. I still remember the horrible WW2 style outfits they wore as late as early 2000s.

ALMOST none of these vests are issued officially. Instead they are privately procured... Depends on unit to unit.....

Why don't we make modern plate carriers?

What is it about our physiology, education, and culture (aka the excuses I hear whenever it comes to standard issue equipment) that stops us from making and issuing modern plate carriers?

Heck, why can't we do as much for specifically our SOF units? Why do we look like cops and grunts from a '90s made-for-TV movie?

Our army needs to develop and manufacture a full spectrum lightweight fitted body armor and make it standard issue. The armor should cover neck to pelvic area and not just the stomach. The benefits of such an addition far outweighs its cost.

So your saving if a conflict was to break out some units wouldn’t have the vests and soldiers would be fighting without body armour?
You would think the capital spent on the solider would be more than enough to procure said equipment to protect them to fight another day.

Not happy with current armout it has so many choke points from where bullet can still hit the tsrget

Have you ever worn one? I guess not!

They are heavy, cumbersome, restrict airflow thus increase the body temperature, increased sweating, and restrict body movement even in the standard format, you cover the neck and pelvic area and essentially you are frying the person inside.

The is pretty much a necessity now for us, We have been losing so many young men in terrorist attacks and border firing incidents.

Most of the time, we are attacked by terrorists, Afghan border forces, or Indians, so better protection would be beneficial for our soldiers, esp those who may be attacked by our enemies.
