Pakistan army air defence troops are conducting an exercise to test different weapon systems in sanmiani ranges.Here is the news clipping;
" The Commander Army Air Defence Command, Lieutenant General Muhammad Ashraf Saleem, visited Sonmiani Ranges and witnessed troops of an Air Defence Division mastering their battle skills during training and firing exercise here Monday.
An ISPR press release said that he appreciated the conduct of firing and urged the soldiers to remain utmost vigilant and professionally prepared to thwart any aggression.
The Commander Army Air Defence Command took round of the training area and exchanged views with soldiers on the modem battle techniques.
He was also briefed about the conduct and methodology of theexercise, the ISPR press release added.
Various weapon systems were fired by the Army Air Defence Division including the indigenously upgraded guns equipped with laser targeting systems and the Oerlikon guns which are the latest air defence weapon systems in the world and fully capable of engaging any intruding aircraft.
Weapons system Medium Air Defence troop, 37MM guns and RBS-70 and Anza Mark-II missile systems were also test fired.
Pak Army Air Defence troops effectively destroyed the area targets.
General Officer Commanding, Air Defence Division, Major General Zamir ul Hassan Shah, received and accompanied the Commander Army Air Defence Command during the exercise."

KARACHI, Feb 18 (APP)- The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Sonmiani Ranges and witnessed firing of Anti-Aircraft Guns and Surface to Air Missiles.This was announced in an ISPR press release issued here on Thursday.It said that the COAS greatly appreciated the professionalism of the participating units and standards achieved in engaging aerial targets.While interacting with the troops, COAS emphasized the need for total focus on professional competence and operational preparedness.He said that the Army is making all out efforts to equip itself with the best available weapons and equipment.
The COAS also reiterated that the multidimensional security threats faced by the country required a high state of preparedness at all times.
