Do you think once we have drones, the US drones will leave?
i guess you have forgotten FALCO....
why should we take UN-ARMED predator drones for the cost of our people? Are we that selfish and greedy that we are willing to sell the blood of our countrymen for a few UN-ARMED predator drones?
BTW, these UN-ARMED predator drones which are UAV's, not UCAV's!
Why not?
Afterall you're buying lots of US products notably the F16C/D.
If you feel this strongly against US military products cancel the orders for every item in the pipeline
Please mention these "LOTS of" US products......i think there are only handful....
Pakistan is no longer interested in American Hardware,
PAF ordered just 18 more f-16s and with some 14 older ones, they want to take the total f-16 strength to 60 jets, in line maintaining the ratio to IAF's rising MIG 29 and SU 30.
We orded 111 f-16s in 1980s and we certainly could have bought them. But no more.
If you haven't noticed, we have been shifting our entire defense needs to China.....let me make it more clear for you:-
Ballistic Missiles (M-11 series) for Army from China.
Nuclear reactors from China.
Air to Air Missiles from China.
Naval F-22p frigates from China.
New submarines and more frigates....already the Admiral said it's going to be China.
JF-17 purely China.
J-10B from China.
C-802/805 Anti-ship missiles, of course from China.
YLC radar systems, from China.
Type-85II tanks, Al-Khalid tanks, NORINCO MBRLs all from China.
Small ammunition, majority from China.New AWACs, from China.
So the point is, already our backbone is Chinese made/collaborated.
Pakistan is only buying spare parts or slightly purchasing new weapons because they are not available in China and hence must be bought to maintain minimum deterrence.
Examples, MLUs for F-16s, P3-C orion upgrades, C-130 upgrades and some new Artillery.
Apart from that, Brazil is stepping in with MAR-1 and South African Denel.
So...........Americans can neither be trusted nor relied upon, which is what is going on.
Why not?

Drones are easy to make, just large R/C planes. The main thing is the sensors and weapons, which i am sure PAF and Air Weapons Complex can help us with.
We lack the satellite network to support over-the-horizon recce by UAV. The bigger range will still remain unexploited. As it is, our current UAVs can loiter up to 9-10 hours, and carry significant payloads. They would be an excellent asset for reconnaisance.
A bigger sophisticated UAV means more fuel carried for loiter time and more high tech "kit" carried for recce work.
We're not getting these weapons for free, there are conditions attached to these weapons such as the "no use against india" with the f-16's and god knows what other condition!
These drones aren't even armed so their no different from the Falcos we operate!
