Pak Army Major Forced To Retired Over Beard

The officer is from the PA.

He has gone to court alleging that he is being forced to go against his religious belief.

The court has sen notices to the Army asking about it.

How is this bogus ?

Because it is obviously bogus to any normal human. Can't say about you. We all know you. :)

Denial is not a river in Egypt !

Denial seems to be the ocean in the case of Safron Terrorists.....you guys don't want to condemn or accept the reality......even when there are killings in front of police and military with uniformed personnel involved and supported by RSS, Shiv Sena, BJP's ministers, etc?? and the training camps providing training to Hindus to go kill Christians and Muslims...... d.e.n.i.a.l is the ocean that connect India with the rest of the world!! You guys ferry through it in every post! [/QUOTE]

Btw, this retirement or suspension.... is wrong in any country's professional service and religion. Everyone should be allowed to follow their religion as long as they don't become part of a terrorist network that takes human lives.

@KS stop trolling just for the heck of it - let the whole info come to light first before jumping into the band wagon

Sir how is this trolling ?

An indian cop went to court alleging his superiors were asking him to trim his beard and that went against his religous belief. You had a 27 page discussion on that and the discussion ranged from Kashmir to Hyderabad to Gujarat and how Islam is in danger in India, how the Hindus are forcing their beliefs on Muslims. You had super mods castigating India for the same and how it has failed in secularism.

But when the same happens in Pakistan, its all bogus and those pointing out the hyper-obvious hypocrisy are trolling ?

True..that is what I am saying. This is wrong on part of the superior to interfere in the religious belifs of the major considering Pakistan is an Islamic republic.

:cheesy:

now thats undeniable isnt it? right from Al Jazeera HQ?

What ever but the same incident also happened in Musharaf time where he has forced 5 persons to retire based on their beard lengths.

Wrong answer -

RAWALPINDI: A retired army Major has alleged before the Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi bench, that he was given compulsory retirement with inappropriate remarks due to his growing of beard.Justice Ch Muhammad Younis of the LHC issued notices to the Ministry of Defence seeking reply.

Stop denying the obvious and stop shooting the messenger.

Neither Maj Zaheerudddin nor his petition in high court is bogus.

Denial is bad, denial with thekedari is worse. The utter rubbish i read on the indian cop thread sure does suit you lot though :)

And that's why I said any normal human. :)

I did not send the notice to Ministry of Defence..Lahore High court on the petition of Maj.Zaheeruddin sent the notice seeking clarification why the major was discharged for not trimming his beard.

Poor Pakistanis, can't seem to catch a break, always hoisted up by their own petard - Muslim, not Muslim enough, what kind of Muslim, beards, length of shalwar, pray this way, no that way, wash like this but our firgha wash like that -- It's all about what they say is Islam -- by the time this has all played out, the biggest loser will be Islam in Pakistan -- but may be that's not a bad thing

I know. And he would be allowed to keep a beard. Since issue is something else as mentioned earlier.

I hope he is. Unthinkable that Islamic practises are not allowed in the army of the Islamic republic of Pakistan. It would be a grave injustice to the very basic founding philosophy of Pakistan that Muslims can practise their religion without interference from Hindus. Maybe the superior also be admonished for offending the religious sensibilites of the major.

.
It is an isolated incident where the major is accusing and nothing is proved. Whatever interests he has in mind, God knows. But if he was forced then the person forcing should be questioned on what kind of policy is being forced here.

Pakistan Army soldiers widely keep the beards and will continue to do so.

Air Force pilots on the other hand can't due to technical issues.

I hope he is. Unthinkable that Islamic practises are not allowed in the army of the Islamic republic of Pakistan. Maybe the superior also be admonished for offending the religious sensibilites of the major.

It is what you think it is. Unthinkable.. not possible.

True. It might have been a grave injustice but since beard isn't the real reason or the issue. It isn't an injustice.
