The head of the military’s media wing on Tuesday said Pakistan Army has never raised fingers at anyone without concrete evidence, adding that major operations under Zarb-e-Azb have been completed.

Militant camps and hideouts from Pak-Afghan border region in the Rajgal area have been cleared. 14 militant attacks have been averted by Pakistani forces in last few months.

Commenting on the measures taken to secure effective border management, Gen Bajwa said 20 checkposts have so far been setup and completed and occupied by FC. This will control cross border movement. “Border management will only be effective if Afghanistan also plays a responsible role,” he said.

Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) and combing operations have contributed to better safety, security and law and order in the country. Major breakthroughs in this regard have been made as a result of IBOs.

The entire group that orchestrated the Warsak colony incident which targeted the christian community has been busted, he said.

“The network behind Mardan bombing, in which 12 people died, including lawyers, police personnel among civilians has also been busted,” Gen Bajwa added, stating that the group also intended to carry out attacks in Mardan police lines and district courts.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly

PESHAWAR: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa on Tuesday said the armed forces are closely monitoring the situation on the border with India and are ready to respond to "any situation".

"We are closely monitoring the developments on the eastern border and we are fully prepared to respond," he said while briefing journalists after an operations and security review meeting which was headed by Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif.

Bajwa also gave a briefing on steps taken for border management by the armed forces.

Work has been completed on 20 posts set up for border management, Bajwa said.

He said border management would be most effective when Pakistani efforts are matched by the Afghan side.

He said deliberations are being made on top levels to ensure implementation of the National Action Plan in letter and in spirit.

DG ISPR Lt Gen Asim Bajwa spoke to reporters in Peshawar.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Amid growing tension between Pakistan and India, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa on Tuesday said the armed forces are closely monitoring the situation on the eastern border.

"Our soldiers are firmly established at the eastern border and are closely monitoring all developments. We are fully prepared to respond to any attack," Bajwa told journalists in Peshawar today (Tuesday).

Briefing on the steps taken for border management, the DG ISPR said that work has been completed on 20 posts set up for border management to control the movement of terrorists but the process would be more effective if Afghan side cooperate in this regard.

SUCCESS IN ANTI-TERRORISM OPERATION

Lt Gen Asim Bajwa has said the security forces have prevented fourteen terrorist attacks in different parts of the country in recent months.

He said 1,470 combing operations have been conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA since first July this year to control the menace of terrorism.

He said seven facilitators of suicide attacks on Christian Colony Peshawar and Mardan District Courts have been arrested.

Arrested terrorists were presented before media.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said both the terrorist attacks were planned in Afghanistan and the suicide bombers entered Pakistan from Afghan soil.

He said the information about terrorist attacks have been shared with the International Security Assistance Force, the Afghan government, army and intelligence.

“The good thing is, people are well aware and they are reporting every suspicious activity now,” he added.

He requested everyone to remain vigilant and share information with the law enforcement agencies if they notice any suspicious activity in their surroundings.

RETURN OF TDPs

The DG ISPR stated that the authorities are working for speedy return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) to their homes till November.

He said so far seventy-five percent TDPs have gone back to their native areas and the reconstruction and rehabilitation is also in progress.

He is true....How can they blame anyone because they are not able to find any evidence against anyone.. like in the case of Osama bin laden. They were not even aware he was residing right under their nose.
I totally agree with PA chief point here...

Just like your dgmo saying it was all POF marking, nobody is a bigger liar than an indiot.

If your going to equate Liars with "Indiots", you might as well call ISPR an Indiot, they have been reduced to making movies to win battles as they cant really win anything offscreen

Yes it is true. The mindset is very different. In our eastern side whenever any form of terror attack happens five minutes later pakistan is being blamed and bogus evidence which gets refuted later on in an embarrassing situation is used. The people also start blaming pakistan like never before. The mantra if war is picked up long before the terrorists are neutralized.... In pakistan this does not happen. We start with with sadness and then anger at border management, then why intelligence failed and what were the leak points in our security which allowed this too happen.

In cases of lahore and Quetta bombing these questions were severely raised and lapses were found which were criticized.

It showcases the thinking of the two nations where one stands obsessed to hide its failures and the other wishes to improve and maximize security.

Anyhow.

The military end of zarb e azb is coming to an end. Now the govt part starts which is the most important and will determine if the operation was successful and that is the complete return of TDPs along with the development of fata ( apart from Army and fc doing their development work, fata university has started its first semester along with EU providing 22m EUR for the development and will be paid by Germany and plus the govt has announced a five year development period amounting to a total of 100 billion rupees). Plus reforms are key which are currently being discussed and although the thinking of FATA intelligentsia, politicians and majority of the people is different from the wishes of elders ( elders want special status whilst the rest want merger with kpk), I am confident that they will be convinced and fata will be merged with kpk.

Local body elections to be held in 2017 in fata and FCR is hundred percent going.

The main focus for the army will be to man and control border which is extremely porous. That means fencing, check posts and wires wherever they can to make sure terrorists from afghanistan don't harm us. That will require more FC units. The size is being increased. FC may double if not triple in number.

Let's hope for the best.
