Recently Exercise Shaheen-III was conducted between PAF and PLAAF at PAF Base Rafiqui. This was third exercise of this series initiated in 2011. Both air force’s aircraft performed head-to-head in simulated air combat and surface attack missions. Chinese AF team was also complemented by logistics support (including tanker trucks) for refueling of Chinese fighters.

The particiaption of Chinese J-10 Multirole fighters and J-7C aircraft provided both airforces the oppurtunity to improve specific skills and on Dissimilar Air Combat Training (DACT). Such exercise help air powers align their challenges vis–à–vis counter strategies, train and plan accordingly in changing threat environment.

@Munir, one of my customer just happens to be a former RAF Tornado RIO, he actively participated in the first Gulf war, you can be sure we have some interesting conversations. He's of opinion that since India/Pakistan share common border with a little flight time, it leaves little envelope for the BVR scenario to to be executed in it's full potential , in fact AWACS from both sides will be struggling to monitor/distinguish the incoming and outgoing traffic.
On a side note, he showed me a 20mm shell from Tornadoes gun, unbelievable as what happens to it even when it hits sand.

Sir,

He is wrong-----the indian can stay in their territory and use their BVR's to their advantage----they will try to snare the PAF closer to their border so that they can use their surfrace to air missiles as well. The PAF can use the same technique----but looking at the numbers that the IAF has----they have to go in large numbers and just overwhelm the adversary----.

If the IAF does not use the advantage that it has-----then it has failed----getting into BVR range totally defeats the purpose of the BVR truck.

On behalf of the PAF---I welcome the IAF of deploying their aircraft close to a 100 miles of the border.

PAF awacs are going to face a major threat from the indian long range surface to air missiles----to counter that----paf needs to have its own long range missiles and off course----a couple of sqdrn's opf J11's.

Because Pakistan in a way secretly helped US and China to shake hands.

The documents summarized and linked to below detail these efforts which ultimately produced Henry Kissinger's secret trip to Beijing July 9-11, 1971. Kissinger, Nixon's National Security Advisor, flew to Beijing from Pakistan. His meetings there produced an agreement that President Nixon would visit China. Nixon went in February 1972.
