any luck with POTUS letting pakistan shop around in europe for used f16s or from USA EDA stock?..
that would be the real game changer.. especially if its EDA C/D versions as there is clear road map for their future upgrades for next 20 years

If we get permission we should explore as many we can 50-60 airframes and upgrade all fleet to V

a big IF
belgium, norway, demark, jordan and purtugal have plenty of MLU 6000+hr airframes that proabbly can be extended to 12000hrs ...obviously it has to be lack of clearance for PAF not to get them

we have to admit US tech is far superior and reliable then chinese, russian and european tech. an air craft that first flew in late 70s is still a killer for the relatively newer russian jets.

So basically a 50 year old Russian Jet was shot down by a 40 year old US Jet..............Big deal!

Must also recall that the Missile & Radar used are only 14-15 years old.

i guess su 30 is not 50 year old. may be you are an indian or a nooni?

Its ridiculous claims by Indians that 2nd gen jet shot down modern 4.5th gen jet @Mav3rick

We can safely say that a 3rd gen Jet was shot down by a 4th Gen Jet, right?

I won't try to extract or infer who you are, as you so politely have done. However, since there is NO evidence whatsoever of an SU-30MKI being shot down, I can only speak on the shot down Mig-21.

Im saying its possible for a bison to shoot down an f 16 but it did not happen in feb 27 scenario.

That was a due to mix up in communications, indeed no F-16s were used in the offensive roles which was carried out by the Mirage and JF-17s while the F-16s were patrolling deep inside own territory, hence the reason for their BVR kills.

So basically these F16S we Jst fly to show off since 35 years and can't go to war in kargil and now?
And we r happy for that showing off, for next 1000,years to come wow thats called a professinol approach???

F15 is eagle. FA18 is super hornet. I truly can't figure out whether f16 is fighting falcon or viper...
As has been pointed out by several people that Viper was the unofficial name of the F16s until the it was officially adopted with the F16V upgrade.

A aircraft family can have several official and unofficial names. This is not unique to the F16. Had the VISTA and XL versions entered production we might have had even more F16 names

Other aircraft with multiple official names are
F105 Thunderchief. Known unofficially as the 'Thud' by it's crew. The electronic warefare versions of this aircraft were called the Wild Weasels. A names later used even for F4s and F16 EW aircraft

A10 is called the Warthog and the Thunderbolt

F15 Eagle. F15E variants are called Strike Eagles/Slam Eagles (South Korean). The Silent Eagle 'prototypes' and the newer F15X is yet to receive a name

The F18 A-D versions are called the Hornets. E-F versions are called the Super Hornets. And EW have their own name, Growler. The Super Hornets are unofficially called 'Rhinos' by their crews to distinguish them from the Hornets when both were in US Naval service

As for the Russians, they too affectionately called their MiG23s 'Cheburashka'

And we all know that we change the designation of Chinese aircraft when they enter PAF service. In the past the J was replaced with F but now we have got a bit creative with FC1 and J10
