PAF to induct 188 JF-17 aircrafts including 26 JF-17B & 50 JF-17 Blk3

Hi,

We are talking about the combat---so that would be by default 'in the arena'---. It is the awacs---the EW aircraft---.

Hi,

I was not teaching you about the teamwork---I was talking about the arrogance in your comment---.

Hi,

Before jumping on my comments---should have waited for my reply---.
I have read many of your anti Pakistan rants. So please just relax and enjoy your beer in America and let us Pakistani's be. I didn't ask for your advice and certainly do not value it. Jog on

Hi,

First of all---I don't drink beer or any liquor---so shame on you for suggesting that---and that also in the month of Ramazan---.

It would have been better if you had learnt something---rather than posting an ignorant post and then strutting around acting silly to cover your embarrassment---.

You won't get nothing addressing me that way---but you might learn something here which you did not know before---.

Pakistan should get both radars, 2 radar knowledge would be helpful learning experience
Radars and Engines are both areas , it does not hurts to have multiple options

. .
Klj7A is better it covers more area with wider detection.
KLJ7A radar would have 1000 T/R modules while LKF601E radar has only 864 T/R modules. It seems that KLJ7A radar will only fit in the JF-17 block-3 while LFK601E radar can be fitted in all the JF-17 blocks. However if AVIC increases the size of the LFK601E radar (no. of T/R modules) especially for JF-17 block-3, then LFK601E radar would have better range and coverage than KLJ7A radar.

. .
I hope all JF-17 block I and II will upgraded to Block III Standard . After all you are going to face a larger force with having both quantitative and qualitative advantage. 200+/- AESA equipped JF-17 block III can make any intruder life to hell .

LKF 601E Aesa radar can be fitted on jft 1 and 2 .Not the klj7A Aesa.

There is one thing in common with Mastan and Indians, both like being humiliated in public.

The number 188 JFTs does not make sense since there were many reports and discussion on a Sister forum that the actual number of JFTs was 250! There were even reports that due to changed Geo-Political situation at the Western border, the JFTs numbers would go all the way up to 300.

Anyway, 188 JFTs is not a satisfactory number UNLESS there is a plan to induct another fighter jet.

Well there is a plan .Su35 and j10 under consideration from a long time . Paf more interested in su35 .whether they wld be able to procure it or not.... . Time will tell .
Personally my wish list is atleast 2 squadron of Eurofighter in PaF inventory before project azm 5 gen roll in .

@MastanKhan is a critique . I have been on this forum from last 14 years . His critical analysis give deep insight of paf drawbacks , he is postive critique not the negative one .

We are way behind our scheduled upgrade

People estimated back in 2008-2009 , we would have 250 Jets by 2015
I estimated it 250

To claim now in 2019 :coffee:we will have 188 :big_boss:, we are way way way behind
Whoever claimed 250 platforms by 2015 was talking out of his rear end. We are lucky we have not had any major set backs otherwise the programme could have easily gone back another 5 years. Considering Pakistan and its infantile aviation industry and dire finances, this is very solid progress.

The total manufacturing run could reach 250-300 JF-17s, but as of right now, the PAF has slotted in 188 JF-17s due by the mid-2020s. If it pursues a Block-IV or Block-V for the 2030-2035 time-frame, then the run will rise to 250-300. However, looking to 2030-2035 isn't a factor right now, so the 250-300 figure doesn't really matter yet.

@messiach -- the PAF CAS told Alan Warnes that the FGFA will be a single seat, twin-engine fighter. He also said the PAF is open to collaborating with allied states, but the final product must be ITAR-free.

This doesn't sound like what the previous CAS (ACM Sohail Aman) said about Project Azm, working with China, and starting production in just 5-10 years. Is Project Azm basically the "natural evolution" of JF-17 you spoke of (Block-IV/V) and, to deal with replacing F-16s, another FGFA is being sought?
I always said it would be a twin engine , finally public info by the brass

Why the fu$k did you quote me? Seems like you have some sort of issue with me

OK people.
Now in the last adress to airmen by the last Air chief he said PAF wants a fleet of 350 to 375 aircrafts. Assuming 185 JFTs and 75(roughly) 16s give us 260 platforms. So we are short by 90.Iam assuming PGs will go by 2022 if not sooner, but how long can the M3/5s last? Certainly not longer than 2025.
The option would therefore be:
A. Extra 16s if we can get them.
B. An interim Delta platform to replace the M3/5 Roles.
C. A twin seater to extend PAF air power over the Sea and provide cover to platforms plus for their longer loitering time.
D. Extend number of JFTs.
The priorities can be changed on account of availability and finances and requirements but this is what should be debated further.
The finances are even with the best of intentions not going to imrove in the next 3-5years. Tuere are multifaceted problems and the system revamp that is needed is beyond the present lot odf people at the helm of affairs. Assuming that the economy stabilizes in 2022/-25(a big IF IMHO), what options are open to us around 2022?
Another pivot in this conundrum is the J31. Where is it going to be around that time? Chosen or dumped? If chosen by PLAAN then the best platform to go for would be J31 60 in numbers. So we have it established in service by 2027. If not then we may revert to the 4 options above. This is how I perceive it. Azm is for post 2030 so I have not included it in my assesment. I suspect PAF will opt for 30 additional JFTS but again it all depends on how varrious things progress.
