We by the Grace of Almighty Allah have been denied F 16s and people here are talking about F 35. Come on brothers, please have some dignity.

Why discuss an antique thread again? After F16 fiasco... can we even discuss F35??

Why not? Things change all the time in international geopolitics. Who knows Pakistan might be offered F-35s for free if such a deal serves US national interests in the future?

It would be foolish to fall in the trap again its in our best inyerest if we only consider fc 31 as our 5th gen option to avoid future controversies

There is no trap here, only two sovereign nations trying their best to further their own respective national interests, that is all.

And our interest should be a sanction free cheaper platform with which ToT is a possibility

Of course Pakistan should do what serves its own national interests the best.

Sir, i want salute you. big fan of your's. after your above statement.
And i do not know how to react here. Cry or Laugh? i mean really US will offer us F-35? and for free?

Sir i was thinking this time we are really going to see some change in our AF.

Hi,

After much thought and deliberation---I have come to the conclusion that PAF should change gears in mid stream and go for a 2 Sqdrn strength of the F 35 initially.

They should drop the idea for the SU35 or the J11D and go for the JH7B with the upgraded engine and aesa radar.

But the key over here is the F35----. With the procurement of this aircraft---it can bring some balance to the fire fight and have some strength at its disposal to maintain and manage an aggressive and a defensive power stance---.

This is an unconventional approach to the problem at hand---. Go for the 5th gen aircraft first and then go back to the 4--- 4.5 gen aircraft---.

It will also give it enough time to develop the JF 17 blk 3 as well.

There are a couple of things that have changed-----. @Zarvan brought my attention to a thread started by Usama---I believe---regarding the F15 Silent eagle----with a new configuration of 16 BVR missiles on the wings and underbody with conformal fuel tanks designed by Boeing believe.

The F 15 would be guided by the F22 and the F 35 towards the target---the same can be done with the JF 17's. If it can be designed to carry 6 BVR missiles---then you have taken care of some of the problems facing the air defense of the country.

By going for the F 35---you are going to take the initiative away from the enemy. If it was me----I would rather have 2 sqdrn's of F35's than 4 sqdrn's of J11d's or SU35's.

You guys are being upset at why this change in game plan----why d I keep bringing different scenarios-----. I guess you people might come across some news in the near or distant future.

So---til then--- I am not going to say anything else---. Just wanted to let you guys know---if India was a litte more aggressive last year---the deal for the J10B's was done----.

To those who are roaming around the air force bases----please look for 2 of them------.
very good suggestion, two issues
1. cost
2. will require constant software updates and assistance, will be absolutely useless if supplier decided to end support
3. USA isn't ready to supply any high-end f-16 equipment like aim 9x and u are talking about f-35

Hi,

The terms of reference have changed---. It was written under difference circumstances.

As per USAF commander, their kill capability ratio:
Single F-22 will be lost to every 30th J-11D.
Single F-22 will be lost to every 3rd J-20.

It is quite evident that 5th gen jets makes day and night difference when it comes to Air superiority.

We can't even fund the falcons without FMF, JSF is way over our heads. Firstly replace the third gen birds, then once the 4th Gen fleet approaches maturity, then PAF could start thinking about next step.

None of the F-22 will be lost to either J-11 or J-20. F-22 and J-20 will be like two blind men fighting, none be able to see other unless a visual or proximity contact.

FC 30 is the target.but its not up for export till 2020 so our target shpuld be increase production of jf 17 and upgradation of all older f 16 plus if option of second hand f16 is available we should go for it but only if it has less strings attached than the previous deal

That's not true, Stealth just reduces RCS, doesn't make fighter invisible to radar. It's all about how potent your radar is and it processing power. I am not making this 1:3 and 1:30 kill ratio from ace combat. I am rephrasing interview of USAF top brass that I saw few months ago.

Great dreams Mastan. Now you have become a Mastana :)

With warming relations between India and US and Pakistan going under the influence of China, this is not happening
