I know that this is a pretty old topic but I just don't understand the evidences. Yes the f-16s FCR did confirm the kill along with AWACS radar footage, but it is entirely possible that the flanker was hit but survived. Also, I remember that a user on the forum mentioned something of picture evidence? Like were the TGPs set to AA? Anyways I'd really like to get some info and clears the misconceptions. Thanks!

Does it matter? Even no MKI show down 27 Feb still proved IAF hardware are overhyped. Undeniable one mig-21 and a Mi-17 loss to India side. It was a victory for PAF. India even need to beg US to help secure the release of their POW. If not , he will still be drinking tea in Pakistan prison.

MI-17 was shoot down by our own SAM by mistake (technical). Due to which we had to halt use of SAM against Pakistani fighters. Otherwise they won't return to PAF base safely. Even their Airforce knows this fact.

We don't need to beg anyone to get our POW, we are not cowards like you who can't even acknowledge dead of your soldiers in Ladakh.

Why didnt PAF shot down their own helo or aircraft while IAF make such stupid mistake? Maybe u want to blame voodoo or bad luck?

At least PAF can produced debris of a shot down IAF aircraft while all Indian can produced is debris of aim-120 which proves PAF missile works well and down IAF aircraft. Lol.

gear was struck pilot try to run it in 5th gear but its struck in 4th gear no matter how many times pilot pushed clutch its not worked

there is no evidence .... no clear video
PAF only has blip in radar
indian media isnt showing anything... all claims of eyewitness claiming they saw downing plane but cant comment on site it crashed...

The aerial engagement started after the downing of MKI because the bombs we tossed over the LOC were all standoff (H4 & REK) and the proof of that is one of the H4's rocket boosters were found in AJK which means they were launched well within Pakistani territory. It makes no sense that Abhinandan was trying to follow the attack package which left the scene after releasing the bombs way before the actual show and scene.

It happened like this,
1. MKI tried to engage the H4 controlling aircraft or the aerial support package and was shot down subsequently by PAF.
2. SAR Mi-171 took off to recover MKI pilots and shot down by their own SAM.
3. Abhinandan tried to chase down the Falcons after knowing what really happened but he found himself following the bait, hence he was ambushed and shot down as well.

Most probably it was F16, as they were at the front, as J17 was hiding behind.

Yes it was a big blunder (unprofessional, someone should know this before) and I am sure that issue definitely sorted out by IAF.

When IAF crossed border and went to deep inside Pakistani territory they were unaware about it.
You can't say same for Indian side, India detected PAF fighters even before they crossed our border.
Only due to that blunder, PAF was able to return unharmed. (IAF was forced to halt use of its SAM)

DG ispr said they had two pilots one in hospital and another in custody , the one in hospital was pakistani pilot who died of injuries , later ISPR did not mention about the second pilot .
