TAI completes Pakistan F-16 fleet mid-life upgrade - IHS Jane's 360
So thats makes 18 blk 52+F-16AM/BM Block 15 MLU+41 more F-16A/B Block 15 aircraft upgraded to Block 15 MLU byTurkish Aerospace Industries (TAI)

So,TOTAL =18+4+41= 63 Rest all are of Below 4+ Generation
o babu! these sources have fake numbers being displayed! Such dud sources were discussed to dead way back in 2010 to 2012 in this very forum!!!!!! Yr a new guy so thats why u dont know. Visit the JFT thread on PAF section and post these sources as well as yr believes there im sure someone from the knowledgeable senior members may refute this.

Hint; the older F16s A?C were 45 not 41 and those are added with 13 F16 ADF. All this fleet has been updated to the F16C/D standards which we brought before those 18 F16C/D. This makes our fleet of F16s 58+18=76 as of now and all are 4.5+ gen standard. Not just this JFT is also a 4+ gen standard a/c and so are PAF's mirages who were updated with ROSE III standard. The are also touching 4 gen if not for 4+ gen.

Kindly gain some knowledge before babbling....This forum as a lot of knowledgeable members.

Actually there is no standard classification as the 4.5 Generation fighter. 4th-gen fighters were designed in the 1970s and dominated the skies in the 1980s and 1990s.

F-22 Raptor is the ultimate fighter of 21st century. Aircrafts that feature significant advances in technology over 4th-gen fighters yet not entirely revolutionary designs like the F-22 Raptor and other 5th-gen planes are sometimes referred to as 4.5-generation air-crafts. Hence the jets that have advanced radar, sensors communications links and can fly faster than the speed of sound without using afterburners (Super cruise) are sometimes referred to as 4.5-generation fighters.

IMO only Typhoon, Rafael & Grippen NG are 4.5- generation fighters. However capabilities of F-15 SE Silent Eagle, Super Hornet, and Su-35 & Chinese J-10 are so much more than the most 4-generation aircrafts, these can arguably be included in the list.

Only when looked thru the coloured glasses of Pakistani patriotism, we may call JF-17 as 4.5- generation fighter, but in reality it is not.

Argue on Facts not on Rants truth is Jf-17 blk 1 Lack 4+ gen touch like f-16 blk 52 +
LOL kid! the only person that is making fun of himself is u not me. My post was a reaction to yr rubbish.

nobody is calling JFT a 4.5 gen only saying its a 4th gen a/c.

@cerberus read the post#75 again. i have edited fopr yr understanding. Its from the Chinese standards the JFT is 3rd gen because they classify their J10 yr Su30 and other a/cs of 4th gen by western standards as 3rd gen fighters.

I guess u have been misinformed by someone who didnt knew this basic thing abt western classification and Chinese classification standards.

Are you kidding me ? Why cant they stand a chance instead I believe there is 50 50 chance for both. F16 had difficulty locking jf17 in Pakistan exercises. Block 15 was unable to lock jf17 if its On board EW suite was enabled. Seriously u are overestimating f16 and mig 29 or M2K

ahahahahahahahhahahhhhhahahahha Happy New year Gift !

If you believe JF17 is as good as F-16/ Mig 29 SMT UPG or even M2K-5/9, you are in delusion.

Posts about ANYTHING other than the Pakistan Air Force fleet will be given warnings or worse.

.
its pretty simple, we have 77+49=126 4th gen aircrafts and unknown no. of 2nd gen aircrafts somewhere between 200-300,
vs 300 odd indian 4th gen and 400 odd 2nd gen aircrafts.

.
@Oscar what's the point in blaming posters when the OP has kept India in it, not a fault of posters but of OP. Modify the OP first.

others are absolutely obsolete and should be thrown to museum immediately or recycle them.

You don't know what you are talking about. Old doesn't equal obsolete.

The Falcon 20/200 are still in service with many forces, including Western and have a number of features that can be readily updated.

The King Air 350 are less than 10 years old and are a superb platform for surveillance and patrol with good range capabilities. Very cheap to maintain too with excellent support from Beechcraft.

The C-130 whilst old is still extremely well supported and cheap to maintain. In the PAF, the primary duty is transportation and logistics for which the C-130 excels. Additionally, a number of the C-130s have received wing updates which will keep them flying for years to come.

The CN 235 fleet is quite new and similarly as with the C130, it is very good at the simple logistics mission it does.

As for helicopters, the Bell 412 and MI-171 can be(have been) upgraded easily and relatively cheaply. For the most part, they're not involved in specialised missions but basic transport duties for which they suffice.

It seems all the Pakistani member are having brain fart at the same time in this forum:yay::yay::yay::yay:. They are thinking all problem of PAF will be solved by JF-17, No one literally no one knows how mature is Jf-17 as a fighter, common sense says it is a light weight fighter with load capacity of 3800 Kg, no long range BVR missile test yet done, no IRST, avionic is such that you can compare with 3rd gen, Radar range (lock) is 85 Km for 5 m RCS. Now you can Google to check what i am saying is correct if not ask me i will provide it.
Keeping aside nationalist idiotic mind aside PAF need urgently around 75 to 100 good 4 gen. fighter either it can be F16 Block 50 or J 10 from china. You need to remove mirage asap, as it already more than 50 years old and its airframe life is over , as in recent years you have seen more Mirage are going down and from last 3 to 4 years yearly mirage fighter in air time has dropped drastically, more than 60%. i.e if 5 years back Mirage was doing 200 hrs yearly training, it is now in 70 to 80hrs. bracket.:o::o:

@WebMaster Sir you changed the title to fighter generations, please change it to original one.

they are fighter aircraft, but according to flight global standards, they classify them as trainers
90% of the discussion is on generations -- it was either editing the title or moving most of the posts into a new thread
