mirage-2000 MK2 And Mig -29 Upg are both 4.5 gen fighter same as Block 52+

Both Rafale & Euro-fighter are in League of Su-35 which called 4.5++ F-16 Blk 60 is also comes in this League with all.

Take eg for Chinese for the even Fifth gen is there 4 th generation. For countries like India & pak even blk 52 is 4.5 gen

PAF is changing rapidly and has room for future options.
Its necessary to replace old Mirages and Skybolts as soon as possible and replace them with jf17 blk2............
More over once heard that PAF is going for Mirage 2000-9 (68 in number) from UAE and also few more F16s from lockheed martin..................so next year is important but in fact upcoming every year will grant strength to PAF.
IAF on the other hand is focusing on Rafale,Tejas and Sokols from Russia...................lets see how soon and how far they succeed...............as I know Indians are facing troubles with Tejas tech and Rafale price tag...............also T50 deal with Russia under TOT is also pretty slow...................so by 2020...............IAF will go for Tejas and Rafales which will pose new challenges to PAF in future sunerios.

Kiddo,these r not norms,these r standards.USA and China have their own seperate standards.
The last part of ur post is absolutely illogical.We dont assume any fighter to be of whatever gen.Even for india and pakistan,block 52 is 4+.Regarding blk 52 and su30mki as 4.5 r just fanboy assumptions,nothing else

Its pretty interesting how Generations of air crafts is discussed..........................4+, 4.5th, 4++ and not much different..........4.5th generation aircraft can be beaten with 3rd Generation aircraft in WVR fight provided that better pilot is flying it..................so its not a great issue..............more over we often do not discuss anti air systems which are also part of air battles and pose more threats to air crafts than interceptors.

18 blk 52 4.5 generation +F-16A/B Block 15 +F-16A/B Block 15 ADF & F-16A/B Block 15 OCU which are comparable 4th gen fighters +Including Jf-17 Blk 1 which 4th gen Total = 124 fighter includin 4.5+4th gen all single Engine fighters.

Whereas IAF
216 Su-30 Mki 4.5 +68 Mig 29 upg 4.5 gen + 49 Mirage mirage 2000h/th +45 Mig 29 k 4.5 generation TOTAL=378 all 4.5 generation with 49 Single Engine Fighters

Bt iaf soon will have mig 35 and 126 rafales

Rafele is perfect killing machine for ground targets.
So far its the best one for multirole non stealthy inventory

In 65 air-war that PAF won, the ratio between PAF and IAF was 1 to 2.1

Today, the ratio has come down to 1 to 1.7

So that's a good news.

Buddy, if we go by generation definition then many fighter will qualify into a certain gen but will be beaten handomely by other aircraft within the same range.

For e.g JF17 and tejas will qualify for 4+ but do you believe either stand a chance against F-16 or Mig 29 SMT?

I have categorised them losely on gen definition but tightly on capabilities.

A aircraft ranked higher is more likely to beat the one in lower and have some good competition within same gen.
