PAF F-6 beat F-14 Tomcat

I was reading one of the western journalist's twitter account and he mentioned that he was not surprised that PAF F-16s beat Saudi Typhoons in Taif because he heard that PAF F-6 beaten USAF Tomcat in exercises in 2001.

I forgot the name of the man but his twitter account was mentioned by a moderator in JF-17 thread-5 about Typhoons and F-16s.

Is that true?

If yes then our PAF combat aircraft drivers r the best Drivers in the world.

Well I don't know if it was 2001 or earlier but in one exercise with the USN where the F 6 played the Aggressor. it was supposed to engage a flight of F 14 Tomcat to save a P3 C. well I couldnt remember the details fully. The F 6 were playing escorts or the F 7 was playing escorts I cant remember. It was simulating an attack on the Carrier.

Some accounts are mentioned here, e.g. the 'F-6 Vs F-15'. Don't remember where the 'F-6 Vs F-14' is.

There was an interview with a Pakistani pilot in Turkey for pilot exchange programme it was a good interview does anybody have it?

But I remember reading that this interview might not be very credible.

That is because India has expressed a serious reservation in appointing women to combat roles.

Honestly, considering the current situation, I'd have thought the Indians would be the first ones to appoint women to such positions. Guess I was wrong.

understandable misconception. Women POWs carry bigger leverage by the enemy during negotiation. India cannot afford that and since IAF doctrine revolves around deep strikes into enemy territory, there is a good chance that will happen. PAF on the other hand has a defensive doctrine and will remain in its own airspace for the most part making it harder for the enemy to get their hands on female pilot POWs

What do you mean by this link ???

1) Indian women are being and have been appointed to combat roles.

2) Two Indian female pilots posing in front of a Mig-29. I'm guessing they're trainees.

You could've just opened the link.

Well your saracasm aside, this (and many such incidents) have happened. Only they are not reported in media with "chest pumping" captions.

Umair,
Not sure about 2001, but similar encounter did happened in Midlink'96 with USN F14s and F-6. Alan warnes has hinted the same incident in F-6 chapter of his book ' PAF 1998-2008: The new dawn'.

There are plenty of such successful dogfights memoirs from multinational exercises. Bandits sqn Mirages have shotdown US and Arab F-16s dozens of times, the result in one of their performances at an exercise literally busted some myths about Mirage performance in close air combat :D

Similarly 8 Sqn has maintained their name in successful low-level surface attack missions in similar exercises, one of such incident was put with oil paint on paper by Hussaini.

Such performances are kept by these units in their history, but honestly speaking these incidents didn't make them invincible. Every dogfight is different than any other, good tactics and human actions to perform under stress sometime yield exceptional results...and some times even a technologically advance aircraft ends up in gun sight of inferior adversary. That is why training never stops.
