What a load of articles . This comes in backdrop of rafale deal ?

Guys IAF to add more than 600 4.5-5th generation fighters in next 15-18 years and numbers would go up depending on how far MK2 and AMCA FGFA turns out to be . Even China will loose it's number superiority by then in terms of replacement they will go thru . If am not wrong China will produce 50 Jf17 for Pakistan by 2019 and Pakistan will add same number or less than that due to upgrade needed to be carried out of older Jf17 . These articles just presume the total number by 2020-25 of Jf17.

I dint even added mMRCA replacement Sukois to this 600 numbers

now getting back on topic,

i think the visit have more to do with the future JF-17 blocks. WE may see some development/progress being made in future acquisition plans such as J-31, personally i feel that PAF will soon be officially joining that project but will it be in this very visit, i don't think so. This will be more about JF-17 block III

its good news, it think the upgrading would be more focused on F7 and JF17 block 1, 200 new fighter jet I think we are talking about J10B and JF17 thunder block2 china has offered PAF this year.

If that is the case then the possibility of Pakistan getting 200 aircraft in a year is achieve-able.
Pakistan can get those aircraft those are being replaced. Like the older J-11s with some newer J-11D's / J-15's / J-16's.
Though this would clearly kill the prospects of getting J-10's as the old ones are not allowed to be exported to Pakistan.

There is also a possibility like what @salman-1 has stated earlier.

PAF need one aircraft that can take the place of F-16 right now. As a multi role platform JF-17 has done well, even block3 will be a fighter that is unprecedentally success. What is sighnigicant for PAF is too get a fighter which has patent superiority to IAF 4th generation fighters( Mirage 2000, Tejas, Mig29K) and competent to defeat 4++(Su-30MKI Rafale), More importantly deters the Su-50 and AWACS.
When facing those rivals. Amount takes a fraction, 100 J10s would be inferior to 20 J-31s I think, because J-10 is not enough to validly imped or destroy them and self casualty would be unacceptable.
Asymmetric superiority is the only way to fight against them. Eliminate more enemies and diminish self loss. Like 1 soldier with pistol fight with 1 with another pistol they may kill others equally but if 1 with Machinegun and fight with 10 with pistols the 1side maybe loses 0.
I think at least J11D as you said. J10 maybe has the cross of role with JF17 block3.
J31 is ideal. I hope China and Pakistan could manufacture it together.
