Speaking to Sputnik 27 Kanuary 2017, Kashin noted that the PL-15 test images have been repeatedly circulated on the Internet, adding that its mockup was also demonstrated at China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai. Being more than six meters long the new rocket is believed to be a potential replacement for China's current main air-to-air weapon PL-12, an active radar-guided beyond-visual-range missile.

However, while the PL-12 has a range of approximately 100 kilometers, the P-15 is reportedly capable of destroying targets at a distance of 300km or even 400km, Kashin pointed out. The Russian military expert remarked that the PL-12 missile was developed by the People's Republic of China in the late 1990s — early 2000s with the assistance of Russia's manufactures and extensive use of Russian components including an active radar homing head. However, it is not clear whether or not Russian specialists were engaged in further refinement of long-range missiles in China.
PL12 has nothing to do with Russia.

You need to stop your blabber. Strategic stuff happens years and months before it comes to the news - integration of this missile and several others would have probably happened months back. PAF is under no obligation to reveal anything. In fact, I can go as far as to that JF-17 Block-3 is already with PAF in limited numbers. The missile news has been deliberately released for the indians.
Yes thats TRUE that JF-17 Block-3 is already with PAF in limited numbers including PL-15. The missile news has been deliberately released for the indians.

Maybe Chinese wants to test its new missile in actual combat theater and what better way than to give it to Pakistan who is actually in a state of undeclared war with Indians and have shot down two of their planes using JF-17 and SD-10.

Yeap, Indians are new guinea pigs for Chinese weapons testing.

SD10 --> Check!
PL15--> till next time.

All wrong info. PL-12 missile development were never involved Russian. Typical shabby journalist. There is a reason why missile never look like R-77 but more towards AIM-120 aerodynamic. The seeker of R-77 and R-27 is so bad. China totally never even bother to use as reference. The electronic of China missile seeker is far superior than anything Russian produces. PL-12 can be say as a totally indigenous effort by Chinese. The Russian even needs to buy military electronic from China for their weapon system.

There is a reason why PAF able to shoot down IAF airplane.

There is a rumour of PAF being issued urgent/emergency funds. Maybe it is for this reason?

A consignment of a undisclosed air to air missile has landed here recently. No news on the type of the missile though.

The SD-10A is an effective weapon system and is every bit as capable as the AMRAAM C5. It now has two kills to its credit.

There is a rumour of PAF being issued urgent/emergency funds. Maybe it is for this reason?

Yes, it is the payment for the consignment.
