A very small percentage sadly, I can name a few on this forum who don't know a single word of Urdu and are only first generation British-Pakistanis (before you ask, I won't be naming them :undecided:). Majority of British-Pakistanis are of Mirpuri decent, they came in the 60s & 70s as labourers. They weren't really educated and brought kind of non-educated mindset with them.

In university you see some real bright spark Pakistanis and they make you proud however in primary, high and college you will see mostly uneducated Pakistanis. Most can't even name the capital of Pakistan. They laugh when they hear "Islamabad". It's not impossible but it's hard to find a British-Pakistani who speaks proper Urdu (with a Pakistani accent).

.
I tried registering and it did not let me, maybe because I have older NICOP. I know several people who have the same situation.

P.S I didn't even know there was a "new" NICOP, mine was issued just in 2015.

I have similar issue, i need to get a new NICOP and also new passport, which is going to take a month to get atleast

The National language is a very harsh measure of identity nor their enthusiasm.

I am Not even talking about culture.

All i am asking is. We used to be proud People. For us our pride was just being a Pakistani.

Now its all just seems Fashion for Some People which i can totally tell you was always there but got mainstreamed due to our gumraahi of being divided in matters of color Race and Religion.

.
Only those people could register whose constitutes were available for by-polls. Someone correct me if wrong?

Also don't like that you need PASSPORT as well as NICOP. NICOP in my opinion should be all that is required.

So new NICOP assigns a new number? Why do you need a new NICOP?

.
Well, that is a question that not only I, but a sh!t load of overseas Pakistanis with older NICOP cards are going to be asking if this situation happens to be true.

100%. Expires in 2021.

I have other family members with same older NICOP cards. They are getting the same error. Entered multiple times only to get the same error. With the new card the registery happened in one go.
What the new card looks like? I would think new nicop and old nicop would have the same citizen number that you have to enter?

Actually i don't even have NICOP, but for some reason people that already have NICOP are unable to register

Yeah its the same number, Identity number will always stay same from birth certificate to death certificate.
When someone go for a new NICOP or normal ID card they keep the old one and give you a token.

For registration you also need a machine readable passport and your vote must be registered in the constituency where elections are happening.

Once you register online your name is removed from registers and you can’t go physically there to cast your vote. You must have to do it online then.

System can check when you enter your ID that you have a valid/new NICOP and machine readable passport or not. If everything is valid system also ask you some verification questions related to your family. E.G where your sister was born?

After verification your registration is complete.

They tried to make the system simple and secure but i still believe the procedure is complex for common citizen.

. .
Bring this NICOP and Passport issue with PTI USA. Let's see if govt resolve the issue.

.
Got a voter pass in email today [emoji16][emoji320]

Now waiting for 14 Oct .

I hope everyone registered for online voting will receive it before 14.
