Why does the Govt not do anything to prevent our people from being this desperate shut down all these so called travel agencies and smugglers sadly they wont bureaucrats are greedy and broke want only remittances and big western corporations and their govts want cheap labor dam you neo liberalism

Let me assure you that all the guys who were detained might be having at least one or more relatives already present in Europe. I met many many Pakistani families here in europe who reached here like that. First a guy reaches, then he tells his relatives how to reach safe and so on.
So basically they are not desperate , rather they just leave country for Europe.

I was born in the UK. My father migrated in the 60's as a 15 year old when the British were looking for labour in the commonwealth States.

We migrated from occupied Jammu to AJK to escape the Genocide of muslims at partition. We went from being relatively wealthy landowners to refugees living in extreme poverty overnight.

My father worked all his life as manual labour and then a small business owner. He sent his kids to uni, Alhamdulillah we now live a Middle class life. Those of my father's siblings who were in Pakistan were supported, they have homes, farming land and small businesses. They're doing OK too.

In our village there are many homes where people did not get the opportunity to migrate. They still live in poverty, relying on the charity of others during the expensive stages of life. It's sad to see mud houses across the road from villas with ac.

Those people are borrowing and begging, selling what little they have to send thier sons into these boats and lorries.

We should not mock, its through Allah's mercy alone that we are not them.

Many people give UK Pakistanis criticism for being left behind but the truth is Dad's story is not unique. Many of that generation came in the same conditions and did the same thing. Our. Community hasnt progressed as well as others and the majority of the reasons for that is our own short comings but circumstances played a big part.

For example many Mirpuri families were migrants of partition, then migrants again when the dam was built.

I ask the question because why hide? These guys were going to secular Europe to spread the joys of having Islamic republic and the idea of rule by calipha and sharia law. They were Tablighi Jamatis for crying out loud. Teach the kuffar about riba, gelatine and sell some halal kola.

Tablighi Jamat doesn’t need to hide. They get the visa because they return back after their Chilla.
