CNN: (right now 13:35) It seems that Pakistan DOES NOT goes against any terrorist which goes against USA

I think Pakistani's should bring their heads out from the place where the sun doesn't shine and tackle the situation in its initial stage.. I don't want this to go on and result in "confirmed truth" without any proof.. just like WMDs (continuous lies become truth and accepted)

Just my two cents..

Pakistan has captured and killed more AQ members than any other country.
This was acknowledged by White House counter terrorism chief, even in the post OBL operation briefing.

I really think there are a lot of things we shall never learn about this raid...and i for one am not buying the current version as it seems incomplete.
However based on past experience, credible evidence and actions of USA/Pakistan against AQ and the bloodbath orchestrated in Pakistan at the hands of AQ and associates...the idea that OBL was deliberately not captured by ISI to support AQ is ridiculous...no way we could have helped this bastard.

India had twice told US about Osama's likely presence close to Islamabad.

NEW DELHI: It now turns out that Indian agencies had twice warned their US counterparts about the presence of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden in an urbanized and heavily populated area not very far from Islamabad – once in mid-2007 and again in early 2008 when they specifically mentioned his likely presence in a cantonment area. On both occasions, the Americans either did not take the Indian intelligence seriously or perhaps were too busy working on their own inputs about Osamas whereabouts.

The first time Indian security agencies gave this information to the US authorities was in mid-2007, soon after a Taliban meeting in Peshawar which was attended by Osamas No.2 Ayman al-Zawahiri. According to the information gathered by Indian intelligence operatives, this meeting was also attended by top leaders of Haqqani network and at least two ISI officials.

Days after the meeting, Zawahiri visited Islamabad as per the information available with Indian authorities and this formed the basis of Indias first input to the US about Osamas hideout. "The urgency with which Zawahiri visited Islamabad or the area in its vicinity suggested that he was there for some purpose. We told them about Zawahiri visiting Islamabad and we also told them that we believed Osama may not be hiding in caves but in a highly urbanized area somewhere near Islamabad. Of course, nobody had spotted him and it was a conclusion we drew on the basis of the information we got," said a top intelligence official involved in processing the information.

In the next six months, Indian operatives every now and then came up with information about movement of Osamas confidants in the region. The next definite input passed on to the US agencies by Indian officials was in early 2008 when there was specific mention made of his illness and his likely presence in a cantonment area. "This time we specifically mentioned about his presence in a cantonment area. It was because we had definite information that his movement was restricted owing to his illness and that it would have been impossible for him to go to an ordinary hospital. We told the Americans that only in a cantonment area could he be looked after by his ISI or other Pakistani benefactors," said the official.

While the US has officially maintained that Pakistani authorities were not informed about the operation till the American choppers left Pakistani airspace, India security officials take this with a pinch of salt. "The Americans might have that capability but we have no reason to rule out that the Pakistanis decided to turn him in because he was proving to be too much of a liability for them with no operational utility," an official said.

This has also raised doubts about the whereabouts of Zawahiri, now widely regarded as al-Qaidas supreme leader. In the past, he has been reported to be hiding somewhere in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border area.

these guys could stop a bunch of guys in a zodiac even during high alert.

Well this isn't about if and when Pakistani forces could / would -- it's about Osama living not in a cave but pretty much a calm and peaceful life with wives and children in a Pakistani city -- and all the while Pakistan assured the world that he's not in Pakistan or if he is, he on some fantasy Pak/Afghan border mountains

You know what the world is upset about, to put it mildly, is just how crazy you have to be to take on US when there was no need to, when they offered all kinds of monies to just cooperate for your own benefit.

Now, you all know I have been suggesting and I hold to my position that the US simply cannot have good relations with any Muslim majority country - it's a cultural thing, it's a structural thing

But why take their money, why engage them at all? Let them go their own way -- but of course Pakistani is so intensely and entirely corrupt that for the free money of the US, it is willing to accept any kind of shame and misfortune to befall the people of Pakistan, in any case it will not effect the military and bureaucrats and the politicians.

For Pakistani readers, Osama was a Saudi of Yemeni descent, who in God forsaken Arabia and Yemen is mourning him, which Arabian or Yemen government officials are expressing displeasure with the US for dispatching their enemy to hell?? Honestly, please think about it, which arbi is up in arms about Osama dispatched to hell?? Which arbi wants what Osama was peddling?? So why then are there funerals, are marches and protests in Pakistan?? Who has left them the Thaikedars, the rent collectors of radicalism??

The foundation of relations with the US can only be first and foremost, private commercial relations - but Pakistani officials tell their citizens that Pakistan must take the free money of Western Tax payers, it is of course a lie, Pakistan need not take these monies -- Stay away from the weapons the US or the West will offer, oops, even now the Pakistani Premier in France is talking about French weapons, as if these will generate jobs for ordinary Pakistanis, put food in their bellies -- Turn these aid, weapons and servitude business, off, just refuse to be a part of it.

Naive?? Not at all, pay the price but be free, earn the right to be proud of yourself and to look others in the eyes.:pakistan:

A Pakistan free of this idiot army and her idiot machinations, a Pakistan free of the US and her aid, a Pakistan free of the enmity of her neighbors:pakistan: -- Sound good?? It begins with coming clean with yourself.

Why "ridiculous", exactly?

This is exactly what i am talking about.. this is becoming the mentality of normal naive US citizens and that could be the base for "possible" actions against Pakistan..

Absolutely right.
What is the gain in 'protecting' OBL? Nothing. It would be all loss. Now, one can argue that Pakistan does have some stakes in factions of Talibans, especially the Haqqani faction, to exercise counter-India influence there. But that is different. You can certainly accuse ISI of incompetence and debate that.
Now, to our Non-Pakistani guests:
If you are here to bash Pakistan then you will only inflame passions and achieve nothing. Pushed to a corner unjustifiably even the most liberal Pakistanis are going to push back. If bashing is the goal then please go to Bharat Rakshak or Yahoo etc.
But if you are here to understand Pakistan and the war and want peace in this world then hear us loud and clear: OBL was most UNwelcome even in the best of times (1996-2001) when Pakistani allies ruled Afghanistan. His presence was nothing but a source of anarchy, bloodshed and shame. Pakistan would gain nothing by 'harboring' him. Do some critical thinking.

Groups of lawyers denounce bin Laden killing

ABBOTTABAD: Groups of Pakistani lawyers on Wednesday held protests over the US killing of Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, denouncing America and saying prayers for their “hero”.

The al Qaeda chief was discovered and killed in a family villa in the town of Abbottabad, a mile from Pakistan’s equivalent of West Point and a mere 30 miles from the capital Islamabad.

About 70 lawyers staged a rally in Abbottabad, condemning the US operation in their city, witnesses said.

They shouted “Go, America go,” “Osama bin Laden is our hero” and chanted slogans against the US-allied and deeply fractured Pakistani government.

“We condemn terrorism but cannot accept any violation of our sovereignty,”said Tahir Faraz Abbasi, president of the local bar association.

In the northwestern city of Peshawar, where bin Laden once lived during the fight to evict Soviet troops from nearby Afghanistan, about 200 lawyers offered special prayers for the Al-Qaeda supremo at the courts.

“Osama was a Muslim hero. He had been waging jihad (holy war) for Muslims across the world,” said prominent local lawyer Ghulam Nabi.

“I doubt Osama was in Abbottabad. Even if he were, he was our hero and he will remain our hero,” he said.

Conspiracy theories, fanned by deep distrust of the United States, have raced like wildfire through Pakistani communities over bin Laden’s killing.

Why "ridiculous", exactly?

already mentioned in my post why it is ridiculous, you do not kill hundreds of members of a terrorist outfit, get thousands of your civilians and soldiers killed at their hands due to the reaction...only to help their leader who has declared you as a sworn enemy.

Any WWE fans????

This is how the WWE celebrated Osama departure
