[Opinion] Imran Khan has emerged as a capable leader and Pakistan is extremely lucky to have him

The way some posters see reality, apparently Pakistan had amazing leadership with so many results.

Just remember this and then draw comparisons.

The reality is that corruption has been rising under IK's premiership. Worse still it is climbing at its highest rate. ( rate is the percentage change from the previous year).

Can you tell me where are the offices of transparency international in India? Unless you are saying there is no corruption in India?

Oh there is and plenty of it. Not upto Pakistan's high standards. India is at 86 and Pakistan at 120 out of 186 countries. Yemen is at 186

LOL. My sanity left me decades ago, but at least I still retain the ability to say it like it is, not as we wish to see it. :D

If you can say like it is, you are pretty sane. Unlike some delusional fanboys who smell roses in sewerage and see flowers in garbage.

Ask the ppl living in Pakistan. Especially lower and middle class ppl. In the end, people dont care how he looks or how well he talks at UN or elsewhere, what matters is the economic situation on ground. In his govt the prices of basic stuff been going up and up, not a single good policy, not a single corrupt caught. Not a single dollar of the billions looted have been recovered. Same old corrupt politicians and same old corrupt bureaucrats and stinky stupid same old policies. Only some dumb fanboys sitting abroad are jumping because they r not facing what ppl of Pakistan are actually facing.

Dont you have to provide a link according to forum rules ??
Have the rules changed now ?
Nearly every topic has no links in this forum anymore.
I ask as I was banned when once I forgot to include a link
Anything that bigs up IK is always welcome even if it might be a blog a email a twitter account or grannies facebook page

We do it piss off Indians … any thing in praise of Pakistan or IK annoys the hell out of you people.

funny u we missed you in Pakistan exchange rate bashing thread .,,

Don't worry about results at the moment just need as many capable and honest political leaders and the rest will take care of itself.

You are addicted to the drug of corrupt incompetents who take you on a rollercoaster every few years. If you have some years of quiet hard work its okay, put your head down and build. 10 years of consistent progress then build from there.

Under any circumstances you cannot let PPP and PMLN get back into power, the objective should be make their corruption public, hold them accountable and eradicate their footprint.

1st world status should be a target for 2050. Stabilization till 2035 and setting up the businesses and infrastructure needed for job creation > High growth till 2050 and hopefully Pakistan can have a few developed cities with skylines, clean streets and low levels of poverty.

If you want to be even more ambitious, create a new city with all the amenities that Pakistanis overseas can relate with and consistent with their values, good stable businesses who are willing to offer employment and bring your people back. Doctors, engineers, Tech etc. There is so much expertise abroad, you combine that with high growth, why can't Pakistan become a South Korea or a Japan? Its possible.

The biggest obstacle, in the way of IK and his earnest supporters, is the Pakistani nation, itself.

100% agree. He is very passionate and is a people's person. Ironically PPP are anything but that.
IK is a genuine leader who wants to do good for the country.

How much capable is he ,just take 500 and go for shopping ask retailer to give one days basic commodities for a family of 4, 2 kg ata , 250 gms sugar,250 grams pulses,250 gms oil, half kg vegetables, one litter milk, leave electricity gas house rents a side, .Go to protesting students against PMC and ask them capabilities of IK and his appointed head of PMC, go to head of assets recovery unit shezad Akbar and ask him how much money he have recovered, Go to foreign office and ask them why Chinese premier Xi postponed his January visit due to Imran Khan and why J Biden isn't attending his call, go to supreme court ask them why the justice fiaz Essa case is a matter of shame for Ik, Go to state bank and ask them why imoprts are increasing and Dollar is 171 rupees , go and ask Ik how many finance ministers , IG pinjab you have changed in 3 years, Go to Ik and ask why he let Noora and Zardari runway who made his platelets report, what happened of sugar commission, of wheat commission why culprits are free, ? More importantly what happened of riyasat e Madina which he promised and why reforms committee chairman Dr Isharat Abad resigned, finally a question how many corrupt bureaucrats he have fired from job and put them behind the bars and have dismissed them from their services? Is level of corruption fallen to zero since he acquired his seat? He is a liability on the shoulders of establishment, people who have no integrity can only defend him work as his stooges,

We can see where you coming from. Straight from the gutter of PMLN where a confirmed and self confessed criminal who used someone's else's passports to open bank accounts fraudulently was Finance Minister. Perhaps that was acceptable to you.
Similarly it was acceptable to you that he borrows money in private companies names and keep the figures out of national debts calculations. He is the one who was instrumental to pass the 18th Amendment, which has provided national resources to criminals like Zardari and Shahbaz Sharif to loot it to their heart contents.

The rupee was overvalued by huge margins, which made Pakistan practically bankrupt when PTI took over.
Even now, their henchmen are responsible for over pricing and created chaos in the country.
similarly the huge burden of circular debt was created by these evil doers. A burden which is increasing by time.
Rising oil prices have not helped, it has increased energy costs, which in return feed the inflationary trends.

The situation with commodity prices is exactly the same all over the world. India has seen more price rises than Pakistan.
In the UK smaller Gas companies are in deeper troubles, government is rescuing them. The Petrol is £1.38 to £1.45 a litter in the UK. Which equate to Rs £308 to Rs 323 per litter.
My weekly shopping for household food stuff, used to be £40 to £50, for similar baskets we are paying close to £65 to £70 a week. That does not include meat which we buy from halal meat shops.
All the gas and electric companies are raising their prices from October to as high as 25%. Mind you prices in the UK are already one of the highest in the world.

But you are more than happy to blame IK and PTI for it.
Grow up dude.

no one has brought about structural reforms, our friends who eulogize musharraf or Zia forget that during both reigns and immediately after that we had to run to IMF.

We need structural reforms whether its democracy or dictatorahip

For that we need people with brains and also strong will and sticking powers.
It wouldn't be easy in a country,, where fake and false propaganda works better than facts.
Where most of the journalists are paid pipers of politicians. They would do anything, including hurting Pakistan and it's interests to make their political masters happy.
Where we have economists like Saleem , who are bitter because they were not given a portfolio. Probably not realising that they don't deserve one.
We need straight thinking, straight planning and straight acting people , who could careless about any individual, party, establishment or security forces.
In other words, people who follow "Nike's" moto, "Just do it"

He is more like a necessity rather than a choice.
Establishment supports him because he and them aligned on relations with India and on many international matters. In contrast Nawaz was an indian lackey in PM House.

IK domestic policies are deeply flawed. Governance getting worst because of bad selection and frequent changes.
Still he will win next elections with establishment support and I shall vote for him because alternatives are rotten nauseating Zardari, and nawaz snakelets.
