The Baloch Human Rights Organisation (BHRO), Baloch National Movement and the outlawed Baloch Students Organisation-Azad have alleged that a military operation was launched in Shabiq area of Turbat district on Sunday.

In separate statements issued on Monday, the three organisations said that several people had been taken into custody, dozens of houses set on fire and women and children beaten up.

They appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organisations to take notice of what they called serious human rights violations in Balochistan.

The BHRO said that Seth Nasir Baloch, Master Javed, Hasan Baloch, Master Sadir Baloch and Asa Baloch had been taken into custody.

The organisations claimed that similar operations had been conducted also in Awaran and Pangur areas.

They said if the detained people had done anything wrong they should be produced before a court of law.

Well they can try bombing Quaid's place again, RETURDS.....

A military operation was launched in which "women and children were beaten up". Lol. How many Balochi Nationalists does it take to at least come up with a convincing lie.

In other news, the Pakistan army, while conducting door-to-door raids, has sought the riot-control expertise of the Punjab Police to deal with rowdy women and children in Turbat. The police have reportedly used sticks and stones to beat women and children, and have also set houses on fire, effectively dispersing the local residents and driving them into neighbouring areas. A policeman speaking on the condition of anonymity has said that the women "attacked us first with ribbons and flowers, leaving us no option but to beat them blue and black with batons".

The Punjab Police has lauded the work of the policemen involved in the operation calling them brave and capable but expressed its dissatisfaction with the low number of civilian casualties involved. IGP Punjab while visiting the DHQ hospital where the injured has been taken, lambasted the children calling them terrorists and throwing medical equipment and used syringes at them. He has vowed to fight terror in whatever form it manifests itself, and assured the citizens of Turbat that justice does not discriminate between gender or age.

He further stated that the police had learnt nothing from the Model Town incident in Lahore and warned citizens that they too should take no lesson from it. "Ours is a mission of purpose", he said "women are the greatest of all threats to our national security. They give birth to terrorists and criminals." He added that the Punjab Assembly, on his initiative, had taken steps to ban women and insisted that the Baloch Assembly should follow suit.

Wrote it myself. I'm so much more productive on def.pk than I am at work. lol.

Oh wow! Baloch women 'attacked' with flowers but were beaten black and blue by men with batons ?? WTF? Unbelievable!:fie:

Calm down man, it's satire. I wrote it while taking a break from work today. It is not grounded in reality or backed by facts. It does however draw on the utter incompetency of the Punjab Police and a particular incident which came to pass in Lahore not more than a month ago. The 'women and children' part of the captioned article immediately took my attention to it, and so I decided to write an amusing but brief piece where the Pakistan Army turns to the Punjab Police for help in dealing with women and children coming in their way during door-to-door raids.

He was clearly out of line there.

We have a habit of accusing our opponents as ISI dogs and Indian dogs.

It is high time to quit this childish method of addressing anti-state elements.

@FalconsForPeace
.

The title should be "Police operation launched....."

Perhaps you can edit it or ask mods to do it for you.

Our jurnos even in Dawn have a poor comprehension skills sometimes.

These days when we say "operation launched". It automatically means "Military operation launched".

And in this case it is police ops and not military.

Thanks.

If I may add, the recent COAS speech talks about bringing "All rebels of the state" to justice and ensuring government's writ in all areas.

It will be injustice to differentiate between rebels of state; rebels are rebels and must be treated alike.

Now that Protection of Pakistan bill is enacted, I believe Baloch rebels will have an increasingly tough time
