in (Viet)nam you have such thing called "Main Ethnic" (Viet), your history is based on the ME.

Think about it this way, if a Dai Viet dynasty managed to conquer China and used the Mandate of Heaven as proof of legitimacy of the Dynasty's rule, it would be considered both a Viet and Imperial Chinese Dynasty. They'll be assimilated into the pool of Chinese culture and be considered a Chinese ethnic group.
