Only 14, Bangladeshi girl charged with adultery was lashed to death

Thats 1.06 ratio. Nothing unusual about it for young growing country. Similar sex ratio is in Muslim Jordan for example.

Nothing unusual, Mr./Ms. Jew? (I have no freaking idea why you israelis are visiting the BD section!)

Let me repeat one of my previous posts here:

As John-Thor Dahlburg points out, "in rural India, the centuries-old practice of female infanticide can still be considered a wise course of action." (Dahlburg, "Where killing baby girls 'is no big sin'," The Los Angeles Times [in The Toronto Star, February 28, 1994.]) According to census statistics, "From 972 females for every 1,000 males in 1901 ... the gender imbalance has tilted to 929 females per 1,000 males. ... In the nearly 300 poor hamlets of the Usilampatti area of Tamil Nadu [state], as many as 196 girls died under suspicious circumstances [in 1993] ... Some were fed dry, unhulled rice that punctured their windpipes, or were made to swallow poisonous powdered fertilizer. Others were smothered with a wet towel, strangled or allowed to starve to death." - Gendercide Watch: Female Infanticide

More than 10m female births in India may have been lost to abortion and sex selection in the past 20 years, according to medical research.

Researchers in India and Canada for the Lancet journal said prenatal selection and selective abortion was causing the loss of 500,000 girls a year.

Experts who have analyzed the National Family Health Survey 2 (NFHS2) estimate that about 300,000 girls go "missing" in India each year. Other studies have put the number between 150,000 and 500,000.

While many people see this as a problem of the poor, analysts say it is more prevalent among those in the wealthier and educated segments of society.

Men in parts of India are also beginning to have difficulties finding brides, causing some to leave the country to do so.

"Hindu girls are being smuggled and purchased from poor countries like Nepal and Bhutan to be brides for Indian men," said Bernard Dickens, professor emeritus of health law and policy at the University of Toronto Law School.

There is no use of Mud sledging, or wrestling like pig.... Some of you here bashing india for its sex ratio... But that is off topic.... the burning issue is what to do to eliminate this kind of social evil....

This happen in Pakistan/bangladesh in the name of Islam, same happen in India in the name of honor... The bottom line is, its women who suffer..

Do you honestly believe that the Zionist who started this thread and the Indians who jumped on the bandwagon give a damn about this girl or Bangladeshis in general?

The Indian troll brigade here is doing what they always do: jump on any negative news about Pakistan/Bangladesh to score cheap points.

And then Indians are the ones who whine the loudest when anyone digs up dirt on India.

Pot calling the kettle back. Do you seriously believe Indians are the only ones doing it?

I am sorry if my postings anyway hurt your feelings. I didn't realize you are that sensitive. Thank you for bringing the plight of that little girl to attention, which also helped in educating the forum readers about how female infants and fetuses are discarded by their loving parents like unwanted trash in a certain nation. Kudos to you !!

You really sound like a juvenile ignorant idiot living in a first world country (USA) with the mentality of a third world kutha. Catch a wake up and understand that the issue being raised in this thread and the posts highlights the crimes against women in all of our South Asian countries. Stop rushing in like a headless goat to the defence of your country irrespective of whether it is right or wrong in its social attitudes. Learn from the Americans and stop hanging around with the frustrated third world emigrant losers you obviously connect so well with in your hood boy. Yes India has a female infanticide problem and indeed its social attitudes in rural areas against women is just plain disgusting. In Pakistan women seem to have borne the brunt of the Taliban extremism. India and Pakistan are dealing with their issues in their stride which is commendable. The problem highlighted in this thread is an injustice against a child in Bangladesh which was furthered by even medical doctors who constitute the educated and middle class. The discussion is how such issues should be handled in South Asia. NOT whether Bangladesh or Shariah is barbaric etc. No wonder the politicians in Sth Asia take their people to be such easily gullible fools ! It is people of your calibre who make their jobs easier. And you are one of the more luckier ones who is exposed to a first world nation and its way of thinking so we can only image the thinking of the village you hailed from. To all the bigots and fools trying to score points here by throwing in a mixed masala of Pakistan and its problems, India and its infanticide issues and heavens even Africa and Jews being brought in here.....the issue is the shameful treatment of women by South Asian males.....electing a few women to parliament or even making them the leaders of your nation does not make you a progressive nation when it comes to the treatment of your women. It is all about how you bring up your sons to interact with females on the basis that they are on equal footing on the social ladder. A million laws will not help the situation if families are raising their sons to be bigots who believe that women are meant to be owned.....and this applies to all families in Sth Asia.

So how many posts has Solomon2 made about social problems in India?
We all know he has made quite a few about Muslim countries.

People who support a troll need to be held to task.

Your words are rational.

'Sharia: illegal but still practiced'

Its their problem why they are following it. WHo asked them to? But if they want to, then its upto them.
his isint what Sharia says according to my knowledge. The Imam must be one of those who is using religion for name sake only.

Congratulation on India's win.

About parent's raising their kids to respect women, I kind of agree, but I am pretty sure you parents should have helped you on learning the benefits of using paragraphs. Its torturous reading your post.

Besides that lets analyze your critical points ,

1) Juvenile ignorant idiot: How did you come to that conclusion ? There is a difference between an argument and incoming !!

2) Third world kutha: I think I get the point here. You are not content in calling me just "kutha", apparently you think it is not derogatory enough hence the addintion of "third world" !!

3) Stop rushing in like headless goat: I respectfully disagree. A head less goat is not capable of rushing in any direction. Even if it could, the lack of eyes and brains ( being headless) would make it impossible for the goat to navigate in a certain direction.

4) Third world emigrant losers: The company I keep includes a few business owners, couple of lawyers, college teacher, school teachers, professionals. If you think I need to move a few things around, please make suggestions.

5) Your Caliber: I am a professional also a business owner. I kinda agree with you about the professional thingy. I think I should have gone to law school or engineering instead of doing my Masters in IT.

6) we can only image the thinking of the village you hailed from

I am originally from Dhaka. I doubt you can call it a village. It was probably established about 400 years ago. If you need more info, look up in the Wiki.
