Direct taxes/revenues must be in "hard currency" vs. "softy currency"

US/British gov can collect taxes and use the money to pay for oil and tea and toys.

Punjab gov can collect taxes but CANNOT pay for anything except salaries.

We have to pay for goods, services, and interest payments etc. in dollars (or other hard currencies or gold).

Because our national currency is not accepted in the international payments like dollars / pounds / Euros.

It did not. And lack of workers is simply a supply demand economics issue. Lack of workers will mean either the wages of workers will rise or the low end factories will move out to India and Vietnam.

China is moving already towards high end manufacturing and services.

They have done it brilliantly. Sure there are complications, but on the whole they have managed the perfect size of population with their geographical landmass.

If only we(India) had done it in time as well. Our population will peak at 1.7 billion in the latter half of this century. We are already suffering from massive social issues due to overpopulation.
