What's new

On Sunday 9pm we must all come out to protest this unprecedented rise in energy prices: Ex PM Imran Khan

.
A serious question for all posters here. Pak's petrol prices still seem around 10% lower than India in dollar terms, the prices of food stuff in dollar terms seem to be more or less at par. The per capita income in both countries is similar and the distribution of income is apparently better in Pak. And yet there seems to be much more protests in Pak than in India.

Is it that Pakistanis are more sensitive? Or are us Hindoos excessively docile? Or am I missing something?

@Wood @Indus Pakistan @Jango @Vapnope @Sugarcane @Chak Bamu @Norwegian

Regards

BJP has people's support. So people in India think fuel prices are good for 'desh'. If Congress had the same fuel taxes as BJP, India would have had big shattering protest by now :pop:

Factor the other utility bills (gas, electricity, water) and Pakistani consumers pay alot more.

Also it’s more to do with a sudden spike in a very short period of time.

In addition, the fact that majority of Pakistanis are very angry at their generals and imported government.

Bjp has people support still .
There is called TINA factor aka there is no other alternative factor
Thats what bjp seems to be .
Basically people have started to think, government gets more taxes , the government gets rich, the government gets powerful and thus good .

A lot of people are complaining about IK doing too much protest, it's the right way people need to see, and whatever they think is wrong they gotta start coming out and start speaking up, only then you will force the generals to stop interfering in peoples life

First, it's the right of citizens to protest against the Government or state or the elected or selected body if they think something is wrong.

2nd you have to understand for people can only share their opinion of what kind of government they want is by selecting the people for that, or going to Courts or doing Protests.

For some reason, Pakistan has made this a taboo that you can't protest in front of parliament or tons of other locations which don't make any sense as Pakistan's own constitution allows this to its citizen that they can protest anywhere they like, or should protest, its just citizens don't know their own rights, and always protesting in the wrong way e.g BREAKING state or public property people you gotta understand if you break something you will be paid with taxpayers money anyway its not like politicians or generals will pay from own pocket
