Okinawa independence movement seeks inspiration from Scotland

Not going to happen and the Okinawans consider themselves fully Japanese, but are fiercely proud of their own unique culture.

Scotland should be the last place anyone looks to for inspiration. What people don't know that if Scotland does break away, so will the Shetland Islands, which is a region within Scotland, that holds the majority of the oil and gas reserves. If they go Scotland is finished.

Well said, Bro!

沖縄は日本の一部である

Okinawa is and shall always be part of Japan.

It is not over in that sense, we all know from where and how much Tibet and Xinjiang separatism are getting their support, from financial aid, political meeting to media support to simple ranting, it is such a "inofficial" support which has long oversteped the bundary, while most of these nation and people never look into the mirror themselves with their minorities wanting independence as well but denied the same kind of support and sympathy. Remember the xinjiang seperatistic organisation in Japan and Germany? and those exiled tibetan "offices" all around the world? Why should China and chinese be the only one who play by the rules? It would be only fair and justice for our people to openly support independence movements in their countries and our government and media should provide same kinds of support and aid like our separatists are enjoying elsewhere, just keep the official statement veiled like other did.
You mixed the two things, for example, the SNP openly said they want an independent Scottland, and the UK government allowed this party to exist and allow them govern Scottland, they can visit other countries, you see, separatism in UK is not a crime, separatism with violence is crime
The leader of Sinn Féin Adams even visited USA in 1990s(I think you know what this party want),and we know for sure US and UK are allies

so china has US bases in Tibet no one wants? Japan is to be blame for themselves for this movement
I don't support a US base in Okinawa,in fact,it's the Okinawan people want to return to Japan in US army rule years, they want the US army out of their territory, however after the US handed back Okinawa to Japan, the Japanese government still let the US base exist in Okinawa, some people felt they were betrayed,so some of them may not happy, just like the reason many Scots want independent because of Tories especially Margaret Hilda Thatcher's stupid policies(most Scots are leftists, they hate tories and hate Blair's stupid Iraq war)

Now I got the news that is said there are only 100000 in Ryukyu island but total population is around 2 million.

And information from wiki. Ryukyu Islands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Though I don't think they can be independent in near future, it's good to learn their history.

In Okinawa, the population is around 1.5 million, but this does not include some 1 million Okinawans who live in Mainland Japan. They're integrated into Japanese society. The demography of Okinawa is also diverse, because many people from Kyushu and Shikoku migrated into Okinawa , so its a really melting pot of people.

It is good to know the history of all regions of Japan. Let me also share the flag of the native Ainu of Northern Japan.

Please refer to:

Tomiyama Ichirō, Kindai Nihon shakai to “Okinawa-jin”: “Nihon-jin” ni naru to iu koto (Tokyo: Nihon Keizai Hyōron-sha, 1990)

Kinjō Isamu, “Okinawa izu namba wan,” in Ōta Jun’ichi, Ōsaka no Uchinaanchu (The Okinawans of Osaka) (Osaka: Burein Sentaa, 1996), 89. Adapted from translation in Steve Rabson, “Life on the Mainland: As Portrayed in Modern Okinawan Literature,” in Chalmers Johnson, ed., Okinawa: Cold War Island (Cardiff, CA: Japan Policy Research Institute, 1999), 89.

I would also say that due to the source being over 24 years old, one has to understand that the Okinawans who are in mainland Japan no longer identify themselves as "Okinawajin" , but as "Nihonjin".

I read news, wiki(baike) mainly in Chinese and all showed those figures that I posted.
So there's no accurate figures but we can know the number should be less than 3 millions.
